With the speed og Ginn he puts pressure on the AFC East. There is only 1 MAYBE 1 corner in the AFC East that can cover Ginn 1 on 1. That is Asanti Samuales. Other then him there is none. With the speed of Ginn you have to play us in zone and and if we bring in a 3 wr set this forces you into your 5 set. We will run at that set all day and put pressure on that defense. THe DC will eventually feel the need to send a blitz and that will put chamber/ ginn 1 on 1 with somebody = 6.

I don't know but the ginn pick was a good pick.

Speed is overrated. It does help mask a recievers other deficiencies though. Arguably the best WR in the history of the game really wasn't all that fast.
Ginn will need to absolutely work his butt off on his route running to even be considered a legitimate #2 receiver.
Plus, if you dont have a QB that has a reasonably accurate deep ball, or an O-Line that can protect the QB long enough for a deep route to develop, all that speed in your WR is wasted.

I ABSOLUTLY HATED the Ginn pick however now that he is a Miami dolphin I have been thinking

What happens when the offensive line gives our quarterback 2 more seconds...What happens when the defense plays press coverage. I mean past 5 yards press disappears and then its a foot race- what kind of seperation will he have then.

At that speed I am starting to think I would be hesitant to play up on him on the line of scrimmage even if it slows him down, once he gets going I would need a few yards cussion because no way would I want my safety to be out there on an island after Ginn got 10 yards out on me.

Yes we should have traded down however we dont have the information they have AND our jobs are not on the line like Cam's and Randy's are....I say their will should prevail

BESIDES....As it turns out if Cleveland had taken Quinn at three it would have been a MAJOR reach....You never know how the pro scouts (the ones whose jobs are on the line) have prospects evaluated.

.
one of the things scouts liked about him is his work ethic and heart(don't tell me he could have played the NC game, high ankle sprains take a long time to heal) i am not concerned about him working on his routes.

cam made the statement.
we signed a great returner.
he did'nt even mention ginn would be a wr.
is he just trying for another hester?

Put a physical CB on Ginn and jam him at the line and all that speed means nothing! Lee Evans has the same speed that Ginn has but he is far more polished and can beat the jam, Ginn cant!

Yeah.... he puts a lot of pressure on the special teams. Can't see him putting pressure on defenses anytime soon.

Stallworth blows him away in a footrace anyway.

1. I don't know about Samuel. While he is a very good corner he is not particularly fast and I wouldn't bet that he would be able to keep up with Ginn one on one.

2. Stallworth is as fast if not faster than Ginn.

I think speed is great, but it is what you do when you catch the ball. Steve Smith of Carolina is probably not as fast as Ginn, but once he gets the ball he finds way to get by guys in a hurry. Ginn is the first receiver we have had in a long time with blazing speed,,,,faster than Mark Clayton or Duper, but Ginn doesn't yet have the hands that they did. I think Ginn also needs to add a little weight and bulk up if he is going to be able to get past defenders the way Steve Smith does.

Revis and Samual will both be able to handle Ginn off the line. They will jam him all day long.

And Buff is built to see that type of WR. Cover-2 takes that speed away. Heck send Ginn across the middle he will get killed. If he does not fall down on the route
