i was watchin nfl replay... ginn was wide open on the play wen penny threw to fasano for that interception.. funny cus ginn was goin cross field rite in front on pennington and he instead threw to fasano wen it was the tougher throw although fasano should have caught that pass... ginn had his man beat and woulda easily got the first down..

penny doenst like to throw to ginn while henne loved to throw to ginn and any WR that was open past 10 yards. sorry guys penny is a good GAME MANAGER but man he sucks outside of that!!!!!

How often has Pennington thrown deep? Is he so entrenched with being successful in the short to mid range that he completely forgets about the deep ball, or is he literally not able to throw it that far?

Keep in mind that on every play a quarterback has a progression. He's supposed to check his options one by one until he sees one open and then he fires it. If Fasano was #2 on the progression and Ginn was #4, and Fasano was kind of open (enough to warrant throwing it), then Ginn's not going to see the ball even if he's really really open.

ckparrothead, don't waste your time trying to explain football to some of these people; they will never understand.

penny will not hold on to the ball long enough to make those throws.he doesnt want to get hurt, and take a hit.guys are open but he is making quick safe reads.no big deal, just dont think we will be a playoff contender-ever.well maybe if we have the #1 defense.the coachs know what is up,so does chad.but it will not change.it is what it is.but it is more fun to watch than last year for sure.

Did you even bother reading the post you quoted? Of course the QB is going to get the ball out the first progression he reaches that he feels is open. There no guarantee that the other reads are even open at all.

actually, i enjoyed his insight. even though some may not be as football savvy as others, a simple explanation of quarterback progressions seems like a logical response to his question...right? you make it seem like everyone is an ignorant fool in this world.

Why are people complaining about Pennington? I don't understand it. To put it blunt, they are fools. He has a qb rating of 98.8 5TDs and 2INT with 1,101yds. What about those numbers? Hes getting the job done, and effectively. Yeah he might not be able to fire a laser 40yds down but you can't either. Hes smart and precise. Name a QB we've had recently that has had success like this? Go ahead and throw Henne in there and see what happens. His stats would more than likely be 2TD 5INT, but its all good because he has a big arm right? Ginn just needs to get a little streak or two going and I bet more throws would come his way. Trust just isnt there yet, hes not a 'go to guy' as of yet. And thats not a knock on Ginn but something needs to click and quick, I do believe slowly the light will finally turn on in his head. Instead of people bashing Chad who is doing his job and doing it well, turn your concern to the defense for crumbling last week and special teams coverage. We lost that game imo by special teams. Just cannot give up 7 on a return.. Just my two cents though.
