I'm probably in the minority here but I would like to see us give the guy one more chance. First and foremost I want to say as a person in recovery I understand first hand the ills of substance abuse. It changes you, your morals, your work ethic, your judgement, EVERYTHING! On the flip side of that I know recovery is possible and sometimes what was once your biggest handicap can turn out to be your biggest strength. I'm pulling for guy.

From a strictly football stand point, I think the guy has all the potential in the world. I'm not sure what's going to happen with Wake but if I was a betting man I'd say we've seen Wake in a Dolphins uniform for the last time. I understand that Jordan has alot of maturing to do but if he comes back next year with his mind right, ready to work I think he can be a huge asset for our Dolphins. Anybody feel the same?

I don't see the point of debating the situation at this point of the season? It's a non-subject until when or if he gets reinstated next season.

Just thought it would be an interesting topic of discussion brotha, curious to see what my fellow Phins fans feel regarding the situation. Sorry the topic didn't suit what you felt was an appropriate time frame.

He has had his chances and has burned his bridges. Screw him, we need to wash our hands of the worthless turd.

Lol worthless turd? What did the guy ever do to you man? He paid his debt with the year long suspension. I think that's adequate.

If scumbags like Greg Hardy have an opportunity to play in this league, in in favor of giving Jordan another opportunity to show his worth with us next year

I would give him a chance with how much money the NFL Miami and players make give him a shadow like dez. Agreed that addiction can make you do dumb things I've seen smart people throw lives away in med school cause of it. There is absolutely nothing to lose in trying to help him overcome and achieve on a football field.

I'd like to see him straighten himself out and get on the field, find a position and dominate the way he was supposed to. So yeah, he's under contract let's see if he can play.

The big question is whether he is still taking recreational drugs (and we are not just talking marijuana). He has tested positive on multiple occasions to have incurred the 12 month suspension. He is a multi-millionaire because of his initial signing bonus, but he has earned zilch in the past year. The question is whether his mind is focused on becoming a footballer again? Personally, I'd be reluctant to give him another chance. However, I wouldn't be surprised if Coach Campbell would be more effective at motivating Dion to focus on football.

Part of the problem with giving him 'another opportunity' is you release a player and keep him instead of another player and if he falters again you have basically hurt yourself twice.

First and foremost, congrats Chuck on your recovery. Stay strong.

As far as Dion, I think that ship has sailed. Organization and teammates unlikely will ever trust him. It's a big part of being on a team. It might do him well to start over in a place outside Miami. I hope the guy turns his life around whether he every turns into a football player or not.

Another unfortunate mistake left by Ireland with all that money and draft picks.....Devastating mistakes.

Defensiveend76 is just always in a crappy mood...

I agree with you tho about giving him another shot. Maybe the suspension for a year was his rock bottom. Hes young, maybe he learned his lesson and matures. So many guys have gotten another chance for worse

that is a good point. I'd still like to see him in camp and see how he looks - both as a person and a professional.

Your worried about releasing a player i can name like 10 that i would show the door...shepphard is on the field the whole game and has about the same impact as dion jordan does.

With a new staff they might at least consider it, remember though, Mike T will still be here and he looked really annoyed (like most of did) when news came out about the next suspension. I mean they obviously can check in with him or his people to see if he has taken steps to deal with the problem- before they make any final decisions to bring him into camp or not.
