He was rated as like a 6th or 7th round pick before the CFP. I think he’s played himself into day 2 consideration, but no way in hell am I spending the 11th overall pick in the draft on him. He’s got arm talent and is obviously a dual threat who can make plays happen off script. Also a gamer who makes it happen in the clutch. But if there’s any game to hype his play, it’s not the Fiesta Bowl where Miami defenders dropped 4 INTs that hit them right in the hands. He’s small though. And he’s in the perfect offensive system for his talents. I just don’t trust everything I see translating to the pros. I generally don’t trust QBs developed by Lane Kiffin. Dart looks like the outlier.

Chambliss is going to be 24 years old when his rookie season starts, too, btw….. QB is a hard pass for me in this draft class any time sooner than one of our three third round selections (that includes Ty Simpson). Mendoza is the only QB I’d endorse with a first round grade.

If he falls to the third round then cool. Otherwise I’m taking a stab at Taylen Green, Sawyer Robertson, or Cade Klubnik in that range.

He’s the guy.
No friggin' way. He's a little guy that reminds of a Kyler Murray. I don't think he will translate to the NFL. Definitely don't want him with the 11th pick. Plus, he's appealing the ruling to try and stay in college another year. So, we don't even know yet if he's coming to NFL.

I suspect the age of entry to the NFL will change due to college contracts, and NFL front offices will have to live with that reality.
It will. I suspect we will see less 20-21 year olds entering the draft, but 24 will always be on the older side. And I’m not saying I’d write off a QB who is already 23-24, but at that age, you better not have any major question marks.

The Kyler Murray comparison above is a good one. And I’d say Great Value Kyler at that. He’s not nearly as good as Kyler was at OU, IMO.

I think Chambliss is a better prospect than those 3 guys, more mobile. He could go earlier. He is ranked 89 overall currently on PFF, so there is that opinion as well.
PFF had Sanders 45th, Milroe 100th, Dart 131st, Shough 133rd, Gabriel 164th and Ewers 165th (just to name a few) on their board going into the 2025 draft. The only ones in the ball park were Milroe (92nd) and Gabriel (144th).

Every year experts and fans over value QBs teams don’t view as starters. The days where developmental guys go days 1 and 2 are gone. Too hard to develop players with limited practices and roster spots; teams carry a starter and a back up at QB.
