Glad we passed on Teven Jenkins.

Never... ever take a big man with a back problem... ever.

The book on this is so much worse than knee problems or anything else really... These guys need a 100% healthy back to maintain what they need to do in the weight room... and backs don't ever get better.

Sadly, Sewell, is looking like a monster. Sewell, accidently pancaked the hell out of one the Lions best DT. Was apologetic but still. Sewell, looks to be a pro bowler.
I feel the Dolphins were in a similar boat as the Bengals.

Both needed to protect the QB. Both had an opportunity to either pick the best linemen many considered generational, or they could choose an elite pass catcher with built in chemistry.

I understand the choice of Waddle and the benefit of Tua and Waddle for years together.

But, I have always said we need to protect our QB. Sewell doesn't magically fix our line, but him and moving Hunt to RG. I guarantee you Malcolm Brown scores in that 1st quarter Bears game.

If Eichenberg succeeds it becomes irrelevant. I don't care if it's at LG. It would have been a good call to go with Waddle.

I guess the question always for me was
Sewell/Moore/ Marshall pick a WR
Waddle/ Eichenberg

Which combo would have set us up better for long term success.

I never felt Tua needed more weapons. I am a believer. I felt he needed an O line and healthy WRS.

At the end of the day, I just want the franchise QB to be protected. I am ok bargaining WRS I don't like taking second or 3rd best option at O line and hoping for the best.

Again, Eichenberg hasn't even had a shot yet. If he develops into a good Linemen we made the right call.

But, when Waddle takes a screen 74 yards for. td in week 1. I WILL be the first one saying "Sewell who?" Lol

I wanted Eichenberg to kill it but seems more closer to a 4th rounder than a 2nd rounder we traded up for. You can have all the WRs in the world but like last year, if you don't have time to pass it's irrelevant. We had the second worst pass blocking in the NFL last year only ahead of The Chargers. Our line doesn't look much improved so far.

A quick scout of the net tells you all you need to know about the transition to the pros for college tackles. Some get it faster than others and it's a bit of a lottery.

Darrisaw injured
Jenkins injured
Radunz struggling
Cosmi struggling
Sewell struggling with pass pro

Leatherwood, Eichenberg and Christensen doing well. Slater doing very well.

It's way too early to tell how they'll all shake out, but most of them are still adjusting, if they're not out injured.

This is why I had Gronk as a 5th round pick. 😃. I still stick to that rule though.

Is he? Saw the Lions’ preseason game and didn’t see anything special from him to be honest.

Just read an article that Leatherwood is the most disappointing. Was thought of as plug and play, but is not. I haven't seen him in TC but it's interesting how all the GMs on here think they can build the perfect oline themselves....in no time.

Haha, I guess it can be seen that way.

For me, I am not a coach, nor professional athlete. So all my posts are simply opinion mostly.

For me it's about what makes sense to me. The Same may not make sense for others, but I don't think for others lol.

If Jackson winds up a bust. I won't be upset. He was a LT who many claimed was the best left when we selected. That pick made sense. Regardless how it turns out.

Hunt- played guard. He, imo was a great pick. However, we played him at tackle. Didn't make sense to me, but by the end of the season it worked.

After a successful season at Tackle we move him back to Guard. Starting to not make sense again only because of his success at RT.

WE now need a RT. WE draft a LT in Eichenberg. We don't draft a true RT. Ok, many say he is a pug and play RT, let's go with it.

Then we take our LT, who is supposed to be our RT and primarily play him at LG.

But we have Kindley? SO does that now mean LG was an issue?

It appears we are playing musical chairs rather then developing them at their natural position.

If thats the case why not try Eichenberg at LT and move Jackson to RT?

It's not that I think I know more or believe I can do better. It just doesn't make sense.

Then I am supposed to be surprised a line is struggling when some are playing out of their normal position?

It's tough. I trust FLO. I'm excited about the team. It's just the O line issues don't make sense to me.

But I have been told I need to wait till week 4 or 5 of regular season to be concerned.

Ok I will. I will wait and see and trust.

However, to me, it just seems like this is an obvious issue that won't be fixed in 8 weeka

Glad we took Waddle he is what Tua needed - and will have some monster games especially on broken plays - they had a chemistry now they simply build on it

Tua is slippery he will also understand the line is porous and get the ball out now that his body is on point with his Brain

Would not have questioned a Sewell pick it made sense to me before the draft

I'm not sure about the whole natural position debate. Jackson always played LT. Kindley always played G (lots of snaps at LG). Dieter was always a G/C.

Hunt played very well at RT. I wanted him to stay there. But it looks like he is going to stay at RG. David was always versatile swing tackle.

In the NFL, I believe more college LTs either switch to G or RT.

It just seems easy for others to sit back and yell how easy it is, when that person isn't doing it. Look at the list of can't miss OL. Not one looks can't miss, plug and play. Even almighty generation Sewell has bad reviews right now...

I honestly find it weird that people are so down on Eichenberg. He’s being asked to play a new position and he’s still earned the starting nod. The kid hasn’t even played a real NFL snap yet.

Including myself, lots of us during the draft wanted Teven Jenkins. Rumours of back problems saw him slide from late round 1 to semi& early round 2. As of now Teven Jenkins is to undergo back surgery a few weeks before the start of the first season.

A lot of people are spot on. Blocking in nfl and pass protection are areas that define the success of every prospect. Injuries however are another thing. Jenkins is still young I dont know the gravity of his injuries but it doesnt sound good at least at the moment.
