I have never been more embarrassed as a Dolphins fan. Not because we passed on Brady Quinn, but because the posts of alleged "Dolphins Fans" are all over ESPN and our boards, stating "I'm a 30 year fan and this has finally made me throw in the towel! blah blah blah #!#$!@#%$# You Mueller! Fire Cam! (b4 he's coached a single game)"

Look, I admit, I was upset when we passed over Quinn too, even though I wasn't his biggest fan. But, maybe analysts have considered there to be only a very thin line between Quinn and Beck, Stanton, Edwards. And now, we've picked up Beck, our choice of the best QBs remaining in the 2nd round, and the cost will be significantly less to sign him. We've also signed a great C/G in Satele. Of course, Kalil would have been awesome, but we've managed to add to our O-Line and stabilize it a little. We got high praise for our 2nd round choices from Mel and crew.

Before this draft, I said we needed to address OL, QB, and WR in that order. The front office has tinkered a bit with this, but from what I see, they've done a decent job of trying to fill all these needs as they see fit. And now what are the "loyal" fans doing? We're bailing, we're whining, we're infuriated because we all know better than our GM, who does this for a living. Shut up, sit down and stop jumping off our team's bandwagon. No wait, you know what, we're better off w/o you. Get out of our midst, you fake, wannabe fans. i dont care how long you've been a fan, if you turn this easily, you're not worth anything to want this organization is.

Just like you, I was upset with passing on Quinn. I do like choosing Ginn, but not at #9. I feel he was a reach at #9, a position in which you should take a "sure thing" player IMO. HOWEVER, in no way am I calling for Cam/Muller's head. I think they took solid players, but just felt they weren't getting the best value at #9. Either way, I am satisfied, but not thrilled with the draft.

Well I have been a fin fan since I saw my very first football game ever.. Back in 71 when my dad was explaining it to me. I am not to happy about Ginn because I think he would have been there @ 16 and we should have traded down if we didn't take Quinn. As for the philosophy of taking the best palyer available at that spot then it was Quinn. I was hoping that we could have traded some of our picks instead of sitting on them.. We have lower rounders which normally make no impact that we could have used to move up especially with our 2nd 2nd Kalhil would have been awesome. We need a true center and move Handot back to Guard, natural position. So far I'm not that ipressed but we are addressing most areas so far. Then again I'm not a pro coach anymore but when every analyast out there questions what we are doing then you have to wonder.. I think they said good things about Beck because they felt a bit sorry for us. while he's not bad he is older and a short shelf life. again IMHO

Miami last won a SB in 73. I guess I'm a "wanna-be" fan but I'm sick of this garbage. Stay loyal to these knuckleheads all you want (probably like Saban) but I'm tired of this.

I couldn't agree more u said it y throw in the towel we haven't even played the first game who knows how this may turn out!!!!!! Ginn Jr. may be unstoppable on the punt and kick returns may decide the game with his lone touchdown who knows

They should have taken Quinn at #9 or seriously traded down. No one was going to take Ginn before #23. That is a serious reach and it almost smells of conflict of interest after Cam's "I've known this family for 10 years" line.

I'm not throwing in the towel on Phins just yet - but I'm warming up my throwing shoulder.

Ginn has the same M.O. as other skinny WRs who can't get off the line when matched against physical corners and #9 for a PR is a very big waste of a pick. Remember Eddie Moore? The immediate justification on him was, "He's a great special teams player." You don't do that with a 1st rd pick, let alone a top 10 pick.

Top 10 = Franchise QB or Immediate Starter. Ginn is neither.

Beck - the guy is 26 years old and will most likely be 27 or 28 before he ever plays a real down for us. I'm thinking they should have gone after a more traditional age QB if the plan is to groom him.

Satele? Great - a projected back-up when we needed a starter. When Kalil was within 5 picks, we should have used one of the useless 7ths and moved up to get him. He is a projected starter.

We are going to come out of this draft with 10 picks:
1- Special Teamer, non-starter
2a - QB Bench player for the season
2b - Projected Backup C
3 - Who Knows
4 - Who Knows
6a - 7c - Does it really matter?

Half of our picks are 6-7 and thus far the other half has been spent on guys who won't see the field much. A typical Dolphins draft thus far.

I don't think it's so much passing quinn as taking ginn at #9. Before I get started though, I don't think you're anyone to be telling people that they are not real fans. why, because they didn't like the picks? They have every right to be upset and I'm sure a few of them are just over exaggerating.

Personally I don't think there is a person in this world that can convince me that a 5'11 kick returner was worth the 9th overall pick in the draft. I don't care what anyone says about Quinn and about the dolphins thinking that he was no better than the second round group. I don't care if the entire world thinks it was a better pick to get Beck than Quinn. Ginn Jr. at #9 was absolute garbage. If I'm not a fan because I think that, than I'm not a fan. You're not going to tell me that no one was even offering a 3rd of 4th round pick to move up 4 or 5 spots. If you had no other offers, then take the best one on the table. teams were getting a kings ransom for a 2nd round pick or a late 1st, and you're going to tell me we couldn't do anything with the #9? Garbage.

Ginn Jr., a 26 year old Beck, and a center from Hawaii that I have to believe was the second option behind Kalil from USC and I can't rate this draft any better than a D+. I'm highly disappointed with the draft, and I don't care if Ginn takes the season opening kick to the house, because he's you don't spend a #9 on a kick returner. Hester is 1 million times better than ginn, and he went what, 32? another disaster of a 1st day in the draft, period.

I was at the ESPN Zone in NYC for the draft today, about a dozen Miami fans in the room I was in and evryone groaned at the pick and hated it, every Jet fan in the place laughed at us. The guy at the table behind me said he would have thrown his jersey away had it not been a Marino one, I personally turned my fin hat inside out for the rest of the day. Now I know what is like to be a Lions fan all those years (at least they got it right this year) Oh well maybe we'll have a shot at Brian Brohm next year. Although I may become a Cardinal fan by then, they at least have a clue.

I love Quinn and almost through something through my tv when we took Ginn. However after I calmed down, it took a couple of hours, I started to consider the theory behind each pick.

9. Ginn --- Our offense averaged 16 pts per game last year. They need help bad. Ginn is a threat to score every time he touches the ball. Like Bush, if you miss one tackle it could be six. The guy causes matchup problems and has to be accounted for on every play. Also Hester and Bush showed how special teams can affect the outcome of a game. He is the best returner available in this draft. However, I do think we could have traded down a couple of spots and still picked him.

40. Beck --- My mock had us taking a QB in round two because I thought Quinn would be gone. However, I wanted Kolb. Philly, who know talent when they see it, beat us to it. I trust Cam to know a good QB when he sees one, and he chose this guy. That's good enough for me.

60. Satele --- I think we reached slightly here. Kalil would have been great. However, the guy has versitility and I like that in my linemen.

71. Who knows. Free and Harris might be there but we still haven't addressed our pathetic secondary yet. There will be good safety value here and perhaps a corner.

All-in-all Randy/Cam haven't done that bad of a job.

Honestly, I don't really care what everyone's opinion is. If you're disgusted with this franchise, fine, leave. You're not hurting the franchise, sell your tickets back now. As far as taking Ginn, yes I admit it is a reach, and a trade down would have been nice.

As far as passing on Quinn, it was all a matter of Beck vs. Quinn, as Mel Kiper stated. If the Dolphins saw relatively no difference between the two, then the Ginn draft is not as much of a reach as everyone is projecting it to be. Look at the other picks today. Beck, 26? The commentators stated this adds to his maturity and mindset. Satele out of Hawaii was praised as an excellent pick that can finally give some stability to our bleak o-line. And, the Lorenzo Booker pick isn't bad either. I don't want Ricky, he's one failed test from another long suspension. Booker is a homerun hitter with some real good speed. And that's what this offense needs, speed. With any luck, picks 4-7 will all be used to shore up the D and inject some youth into the franchise.

This draft is not as bad as it initially seemed and things look brighter. But, if you still don't like it and your stomach is in knots, then do what you want and curse the names of Mueller and Cameron.

Give me a break, you're just as bad as the fans claiming to jump ship. Today has been a travesty. For Dolphin fans to be upset because a guy like Mueller, who is only here to collect a paycheck, completely ****ed us, is perfectly reasonable.

They should have taken Quinn at #9 or seriously traded down. No one was going to take Ginn before #23. That is a serious reach and it almost smells of conflict of interest after Cam's "I've known this family for 10 years" line.

I believe the word you are looking for is Cronyism. Why does the phrase, "You're doing a heckuva job, Brownie." come to mind.

Five stars..I thoght i was eh ONLY person who felt that way...thats why i didin't bother even posing something like this...I'm glad I'm the only one who feels that way.
