The Gold Cup is about to begin! It has already been 2 years since Mexico beat Brazil in Mexico. I remember 2 years ago going to see USA play Brazil. What a game. Unfortunately, US lost. I am looking forward to seeing how USA will do in this tourney and I am rooting for them to win. I want them to win, but for some reason I see Costa Rica winning it, but we'll see....

USA! USA!

Colombia and Panama are opening things up here in the Orange Bowl here in Miami. Right now it is 0-0 and Colombia is attacking well, but they just can't score.

Just watched Canada and Costa Rica. The Costa Ricans got a GIFT of a penalty and by and large we pretty ****e. If Canada had ANY semblence of an attack they could have walked it, but Canada is also pretty crap(putting it mildly) and, much like other nations in the GC, have a well below full strength squad.

The match was 1-0, but a draw would have been a fair result. CR, and their dramatics, were lucky to escape with a win and found themselves under the pump for the last 10 minutes against 10 man Canada.

Oh well, Canada might beat Cuba, but will be demolished by the Yanks on Saturday.

USA was down 1-0 to Cuba and then came back and ended up winning 4-1. Goals by Beasley, Donovan (twice) and Dempsey. I predicted a 2-1 win with Beasley and Dempsey scoring...I missed two goals haha. Good to see Tony Sanneh and John O'Brien return and play for the National team. Chris Armas also was good to watch. USA won but scared me when down 1-0. What is Arena thinking not starting the top guys? Wolff is better then most forwards on the team. Oh well a win is a win!

Colombia lost to Panama 1-0! Unbelievable. Costa Rica beat Canada 1-0. Honduras and Trinidad and Tobago tied 1-1. Mexico lost to South Africa (a guest team), damn Lavolpe is going to take heat for that loss in LA..where there are alot of Mexicans. And right now the game between Jamaica and Guatemala are having a heated, high scoring encounter right now. 2-1, and a Jamaican was sent off and its only the 15th minute.

I think it's because no one brings their top squad to the Gold Cup.

Yes you are right, but USA and Mexico have brought some pretty good players that are on the "A Team" so to say. What I meant when I said that is, Arena had 3 VERY good players on the bench that are starters and he subs them all in and all play IMO well. Josh Wolff, Landon Donovan and John O'Brien. He should have started them since the beginning....and Kasey Keller should have been the starting Goalie.

USA is playing Canada right now and it is 0-0. I expect US to come out more aggressive in the 2nd half and win this 3-0, like I said before the game. Goals by Donovan and Wolff twice.

US wins 2-0. An own goal and a late goal by Donovan were the two scores.

USA tied Costa Rica but qualified for the next round. They tied 0-0, even though I expected a 2-0 win with goals by O'Brien and Wolff but that did not happen. Not much activity in this thread huh?

USA beat the Reggae Boys today 3-1. Goal from Josh Wolff (finally!) and two from Beasley gaves us the win. I had predicted a 3-0 win with 2 goals by Donovan and one by Wolff. I went 1 for 3 . USA will now play Honduras I believe...who beat Costa Rica today.

Manchester United is my favorite soccer team, england rules!!!

go Rooney #9 and Beckham #7

yah sorry they aren't playing in the gold cup... and england isn't THAT good... and becks is way overated but is a good role player.. oh and REAL MADRID could kick MAN U's buttt!

USA WINS!!!! 2-1!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a game! Down 1-0 to Honduras late and in the final 5 minutes an equaliser by O'Brien and a goal in the last seconds in the game by Onyewu gave the US. their right to play in the finals. The Hondurians were so close and probably had their best chance due to the fact that Arena got a red card for arguing a call. Arena will not be able to coach the finals.

Darn i didn't get to see the game... i was at work (at a soccer store ironically enough) well sounded like a good game.. hopefully i will get to see a replay
