Longtime Tour pro Tom Pernice Jr., one of Vijay Singh's good friends, took an unprompted swipe at Tiger Woods for his selective playing schedule. "I personally like what Vijay is doing out here, playing 30 or 31 events," Pernice said. "We have 43 title sponsors, but Tiger thinks we have 18. Right now, Vijay is doing more for the PGA Tour than anybody ... I think Tiger needs to show his talents at different events. There are a lot of tournaments he's never played. There's no reason he can't play them." Tour officials apparently have discussed the idea of requiring players to participate in every event at least once every six years. That way, even less glamorous stops occasionally would have Woods and other top players in the field. Woods no doubt would resist such a proposal.
