Good article here

Mercury Morris, a running back for that team and apparently its designated spokesman, went on TV to all but dance on New England's unfulfilled dream of perfection.
How can the Merc be so insensitive? How can those Dolphins not believe records are meant to be broken? How can they be happy the Giants prevented the Patriots from finishing 19-0?
Easily and candidly, that's how.
The '72 Dolphins are being honest with themselves, and to heck with the rest of us.

When my kids get alittle older, I won't tell them how far I had to walk to school. I'll tell them how there was no such thing as political correctness.

Records are made to be broken, but who says we have to want them to be? I think anyone who wants the Dolphins perfect season to be matched are the ones trying to match it, understandable. The ones that have the record and want to keep it, also understandable. Show me one record holder that says they want their record broken and I'll show you a liar.

It's very understandable that the 1972 Miami Dolphins want their undefeated record to remain intact for as long as possible, forever if possible. i could be wrong here, but i think some team of current Dolphin players would be the ONLY team they'd be ok with breaking their record, because it'd at least be another Miami Dolphins team doing it.

To suggest a poster needs to look at an article..... elicits a mod warning.... huh

The 72's earned their right to treat THEIR record anyway they please... and make no mistake... it's their record!

It's like the old country story about breakfast where it's determined to serve a good bacon and egg breakfast... the chicken (us fans) were participants... while the pig (the players) were commited....

could you imagine if the pats did win the big one? not only would they eclipse the 72 teams records, but lets not forget that marinos records were broken this year as well. im also a braves fan and aarons record was broken, it was crazy because all the records for my teams seemed to get broken this year. thank god for the giants, lol
