Cool little article about Henne.

He rarely can be stopped from singing, much to the chagrin of close acquaintances, who deem his vocal stylings unfit for anything but amusing American Idol outtakes. But you probably wouldn't ever catch him singing one particular song. It is four verses and consists of 143 words, many unprintable.

The song begins:

"Chad Henne is a joke…."

The song is a tribute of sorts, penned and performed by The Dead Schembechlers, an Ohio State-based punk band. The title? Same as the opening line, with an expletive tossed in.

"Ah," Henne says, smiling. "That's a good song. My fiancée has that on her play track when she works out. She thinks that pumps her up."

Man, I really have a great feeling about this guy. The coaching staff loves him, he has a ton of confidence now, he has Pennington teaching him, he has leadership qualities, and he has a great work ethic.

I really hope he pans out for us.

AND HE HAS A FREAKIN' CANNON FOR AN ARM!!!!

I STILL do not understand why for end-of-the-half or game very long range plays they don't bring him in!!!!!

so we didnt have to see how good he can tackle when a cb read's bomb...

In those Hail Mary (Hail Henne?) plays the CB is reading bomb already. All they usually try to do is to knock the ball down. I'm talking about VERY end of game/half tries, some times I saw Chad P try last season and it wasn't pretty....and I think Chad H would be a better tackler than Chad P.

Henne seems comfortable and willing to take this very valuable time to learn behind a real pro like Chad P. We all have to feel good about the QB situation right now... What a reversal from just 2 years ago!

Henne has a real chance to become a complete QB and it seems he is embracing it. I always come away from these articles thinking how lucky We (Henne too) are to have a team player like Chad P. in front of him right now. A real class act, who is confident enough in his own ability to embrace the mentor role... The two of them work very well together and I hope they fold Pat White into the mix as well...

good article,i enjoyed reading it...i like that he's a sponge, soaking up everything Chad P. has to teach him...i think he'll do really good when he gets in there and takes over as our starting QB...

And he may be humble enough to see the value of bringing White in to the mix as a spread or Wildcat QB. Instead of a QB competition it becomes a partnership.

yeah but then what about pennington? people dont like him anymore?

Chad P is the starting QB for he Dolphins right now, Henne displays lots of promise, but has proven nothing. In time Henne will get his chance and hopefully lives up to the hype. Until then Chad P is the leader of this team and if he has a year like last or better Henne will ride the pine a little longer. I think thats ok as long as Chad P is producing and Henne is learning.

In previous posts I've argued for staying with Penny in 2009, but sooner or later Chad H will get his chance. When he does he may inherit WildPat White as well. Assuming Henne wins the QB race with White. Not bringing up the Chad P-Chad H-Pat W argument again, just saying QBs ain't like Volvos, they don't last forever. Sooner or later we are going to have to see what Mr. Henne can do. Whether the song is right or wrong....
