We already knew Ginn would step in as the #1 WR for us this year but its good to hear that he has been working hard and improving.

"I think he's more assertive," Allen said. "When you first come to the league, you kind of feel your way through, try to figure out how guys are. From a wide receiver standpoint, you have to be aggressive and I think he's starting to understand that you have to play fast, and play fast all the time. And he's getting better at it, you can see it each and every day.

I think that's alot to ask a 2nd year WR who struggled mightily in his rookie year and wil likely have a new QB throwing to him. I expect Ginn to improve and eventually I think he can be a quality WR but to ask him to be your top guy in year 2 is asking alot.

WHAT?!! If your going to post, please know what your talking about. Your normally a good popster on here but this is a completely biased statement.

Ginn ran crisp routes and caught just about everything that was thrown to him. After Chambers was traded Ginn was by far our best reciever.

This is totally biased comment by a jets fan and my rebuttle is the total reality of it regarding Ginn... (ie..not drinking any kool aid)

Again he is the best reciever we have, producied mightily with the time he was given to play last year and will be a realistic threat in 2008 with just another year of experience.

Seriously, thanks for educating him, dolpns13. I nearly fell out of my chair when i read that "struggled mightily" nonsense.

besides the tow kickoff return TDs, I can think of at least 2 other guaranteed TDs where the qb missed a WIDE OPEN Ginn. One, (I'm sure Junc will remember this), Beck missed him at the goalline in the 1st half of the Jets game here in So. Fla. Two, overthrown wide open behind the Pats secondary here in So. Fla. I'm missing one I think.

All this, on a 1-15 team with poor qb play, as a rookie, who really wasnt used much as a wr until the 2nd half of the season. NYJunc, while a raging homer, you usually strikes me as intelligent, but you whiffed on this one.

I watched a few dolphin games and barely noticed him on the field except when he was returning kicks and he didn't do alot on KRs. Most of his season was catching 1-3 balls a game, going from that to being a #1 is a HUGE difference. Maybe struggled mightily wasn't the best phrase but he wasn't a difference maker and he wasn't very productive as a rookie. In most cases it takes WRs a few years to develop but you are making it sound like he was very good as a rookie and will be great this year. I think that's unrealistic.

I think you're undervaluing his performance last year a little bit. No, he didn't come out and light the world on fire, but how many rookie WRs do? Especially on a 1-15 team, where no one was overly impressive.

I think where most of the optimism in relation to Ginn comes from is the fact that he showed steady improvement as the season went on. And, he also allayed some of the biggest fears about him, showing good hands and fairly good route running. So, I'm not expecting a Pro Bowl this year, but I do expect him to be, by far, our most talented WR.

asking a jets fan to understand anything about the dolphins is asking a lot :sidelol::sidelol:

kidding of course .. but honestly, a bigger offensive line, a re-energized(hopefully) fun game, and 3 possible QBs battling for one spot .. can cause an awful lot of big plays to be made .. with Ginn's speed i expect a lot of separation to be made opening up holes for other players to make those plays and allow him to make just as many plays himself .. i dont see why he cant be the top guy this year .. besides, who is really going to challenge him?

"The best guy returning kicks will be the guy that goes back there," Sparano said. "If that ends up being Ted, so be it. Ted knows, no different than anybody else, the more jobs you can do here, the better off that we are going to be."

Although this does get me excited I also can't help but be nervous. Ginn is without a doubt our best WR and he is really going to help improve this offense. He may not have a 1000 yard season but his ability to stretch the field will help our running game and get other WR's open. Putting him back to recieve kickoffs and punts really scares me. We cannot afford to lose a player like Ginn if we want to be a successful team this season.

Now im not saying I don't want Ginn to play special teams. He is our biggest impact player and can change a game with 1 return. It is a huge responsibility for a 2 year WR who is moving into the number 1 role. Hopefully we will have a consistent QB in 2008 because if we do then I think that the sky is the limit for Ginn!

I agree, it takes 2-3 years to develop a WR so why then are you guys putting so much pressure on him? To be your most talented WR is not asking alot but to be your best WR might be. He might not be ready for that yet especially w/ another new QB likely.

Don't confuse my comments, I never said he's awful and will never be good. The jury is still out, he's still developing. To expect him to be your #1 guy is asking alot, maybe it happens but I wouldn't go in expecting it.

When looking at Ginn's stats, realize he didn't play WR in game time situation until week 8. He still managed what 30ish catches? not too bad for a rookie. He also had cleo lemon and rookie beck and a suspect line.

Ted ginn started playing when ronnie brown got hurt. THIS IS HUGE. earliar in the season sure the fins were loosing but they had a dominate ground game and we never even TRIED to stretch the field.

I don't recall balls bouncing off his hands. he had some good 20 to 30 yard catches. one play against buffalo i believe he got way behind the safteys and caught a bomb(underthrown) from lemon which if he had put more air under it ginn was gone for a 70+yrd td...

I also saw him return a touchdown, and had TWO negated for holding. He is EXPLOSIVE.

Once he gets reps in on a better team(this 2008 sparano team) and become accustomed to the game speed he will break out. HOPEFULLY thats this year, but i agree with you it could be next year. rarely do players go from 30 catches to probowl the next season... this you are right on.
