Some may say we still have so many holes, it's the same every year...but actually we've done the hardest part. QB, RB, WR, and CB1-2 (not slot) are all filled....these are the ones that can bedevil a franchise for years. Essentially the huge needs are simply MLB, SLB ( move kiko to WLB ), 2 OG, and slot corner. The bust rate for these is far lower. With a projected $30m in cap after extensions/obvious roster cuts/resigning Stills and a full draft, these should be much more scoutable/predictable than the ones in the past---we have plenty of resources to make it happen. We don't need stars at each position---maybe a stud at MLB and then average-to-above-average starters elsewhere. Am I missing something?

especially if we don't overpay Stills, we have tons of money. Im never a fan of overpaying for receivers.

Yes.

We're only allowed so many draft picks.

2 LBs, at least 1 DE, 1 CB, 1 (possibly 2) Oline guys, TE.....

I would partially agree in that the hard part is done but I wouldn't say easy for the rest. Guard is not a huge issue on offense and you are right in that the talent positions are mostly set on offense. We have the coach & QB and that's half the battle. We also have the WR. As you say....those are the high bust rates along with corner.

They're going to give Landry 12M+ per year and extend Jones at 8-9M per year. Re-sign Stills at 6-7???? Maybe but that's now 22M in first year cap space out of the soon to be available $55M. (First year cap hits are usually low). The only way they keep Stills is with guaranteed money.

They have to find a star LB. Ideally one to play MLB. If not, they still need a stud who can fly around and be a 3 down guy at WLB. SLB is a two down player and a bit easier to find.

I would also argue that we need a star at DE or DT but we need both. In a perfect world, my focus would be to sign a quality DT in case JP doesn't get better and then draft a DE in round 1, LB in round 2. It rarely works out that easy.

where does $12 million plus or even $12 million per put juice on the wr pay scale?

that's a lot of dime

Only 7 WRs were 12 million or more in 2016. That's top 10 money

Easy? Nothing in the NFL comes that easy, specially for us. Doable yes but we need to be very smart and stay away from guys like Mario Williams and the sort. We also need to hit on the draft and not give away any more freaking picks for guys we won't even use.

Ozzy rules!!

Landry will get close to that 12 mil mark. I'm thinking 10ish...thoughts? Aside from his catches he has that passion that is contagious, GMs would love to have that plus he's a hard worker and clean off field. He doesn't have the scary baggage like ODB.

wow...I guess I can see it and Miami is gonna do him right but top 10 is a little rich no? especially a year early before yout hit free agency...I was hoping for more $10 million annually in a good faith/we came to you a year early thing

If it was so easy, why hasn't it already been done?

I think we've been in the same boat for several years. Less holes but same boat.

why are yall worring about how much nfl player get or make....worry about how much you get paid at wk...

If you have to ask that you aren't a diehard fan

How many LBers have we been through since ZT left? Were ANY of them really good for us?
