Rotoworld also reported that the Fins offered JT for the #21, but that the Redskins turned it down.

If they can give 2 first rounders for a 30 year old WR . . . the can give a first rounder for a guy who is 4 years older but is a top 5 DE in this league (there biggest need) . . . and was DYOP in 2006.
Yea Chad is great . . . but 2 first rounders . . . he is 30 . . . and they aren't even that bad at WR with Randel El, Moss and Cooley.

Since when is 30 the end of someone's career?
Being 30 means at LEAST 4-5 productive and probably all-pro seasons out of a guy like Chad Johnson.
But still the point is that the Skins can give a 1st for JT if they offered 1 1st 1 3rd (pot a 1st) for Chad.
30 isn't old . . . but 2 first round picks . . . remember Chad was a second rounder . . . you are gonna give up 2 chances to find possibly a better player who will give you an additional 8 years on top of that . . . you potentially lose 16 great years from 2 positions by doing this trade. For a guy who has character issues also?
We all saw how fantastic the Giants were at giving pressure to win that Super Bowl . . . and Washington DESPERATELY needs a DE . . . they have WR's.
I'm not saying I would give a 1st for JT . . . because I am with u . . .he is 34 and that is just too much to give up . . . but I'm not understanding why the Skins would give 2 first rounders for a 30 year old All pro WR . . . and not give 1 first rounder to a guy only 3 years older . . . still playing at a top 5 DE level and fills the biggest need on their team.

and the odds of one, even two first round picks amounting to the player Chad Johnson is are still very slim. For a team in "win now" mode like the Redskins are, i think that the trade for Johnson would be good for them.
Very true . . .there is no guarantee on anybody . . . and Chad is proven . . .
I still think 2 firsts is ENTIRELY too much to give up . . . but that is my opinion.
Still doesnt change my stance that if they can give 2 firsts for a guy who wont even get 10 touches on offense and is 30 years old . . . .they can give up 1 first for a guy who will attempt to put pressure on the QB on every down and is a top 5 DE in this league and is just 3 years older than Chad . . . and JUST won the NFL's "man of the year" award . . . displaying his excellent character over a disgruntled WR in Cincy. Also fills their biggest need.
