The Dolphins have LOTS of FA's, and a LOT of cap space. This is ideal for a change, as any new head coach can put in who he want with any new system.

Tannehill is a potential franchise QB, in spite of what some have to say. Heartline, Gibson, Wallace, Matthews, and Clay are a VG receiving corps, regardless of system. The OL has Pouncey, who is great in any system, and fill in the blanks to who you want in your system.

On D, Starks and Solia are FA's, and a new coaching staff can put in a 3-4 0r 4-3. Grimes, Carroll, and Clemons are FA's, and Patterson is easily cut. Fill in who you want to your system.

Bottom line, any HC can come in and pretty much put in his own guys to fit whatever system he has. Don't see the same options next year.

Perfect chance to bring in a GM and put his people in place.
I don't think Pouncey was that great in this system last year, pretty pedestrian but I get point

I agree with perfect time for change, but disagree Tanny-Hill is a franchise QB. You better build a Hall of Fame defense and get us a Hall of Fame RB if we expect to make the playoffs with Tanny-Hill at the reigns. We should have made the playoffs this year.

I'm all in favor of getting rid of Philbin, he made no adjustments in either game.

2010 Ross should have cleaned house. You can say I get things wrong, but this was one I got correct. Sparano was given an extra year and Ireland stayed on...this chapter should have been long gone.

This damn fiasco seems like it will never end

Agree, Pouncey was not as good as a year ago but, is the least of our problems IF authorities don't make it another one. Any Gm/HC can come in and go WCO and ZBS or ground and pound with throwing deep. GUARANTEE Tannehill to Wallace will click next year.

On D, no problem in going 3-4 or 4-3, with Jordan waiting in the wings. In the secondary, there is only Jones who must be kept.

There will not be this chance again with these same players as a core.

IF I'm a GM or HC, I have to love this opportunity.

I'm gonna likely get blasted for this but, I sincerely believe that this team would have played much harder, and very likely won at least one of two for Sparano.

Before blasting away, remember that no less that JT said he would run through a brick wall for the guy. FWIW.

You might as well just trade Tannehill. "any new system" will screw his development.

Bull****.

A new system in which we actually RUN THE FOOTBALL and design plays to get our receivers off of coverage would be a HUGE help for Ryan Tannehill. Let's see, if we didn't force him to account for 90% of the offense and we didn't force him to fit footballs into tight windows on 90% of that 90%, he would surely be worse, right? Uh, what?

Tannehill can fit under any system. Actually the system we ran this year was not a good fit for him. With a running game and time to throw, he has shown to be a very accurate passer.

The biggest reason we need a change. Many teams were fighting for a playoff birth yet only one basically didn't even show up versus one of the easiest opponents of the year at home.
Every other team whether they won or lost was giving great effort to secure that last spot but the Dolphins we never even put up a fight and we want to keep this friggin leadership like they are something special.
