2) The idea that Nick Saban is a coaching disciple of Belichick. He's not. Saban worked on BB's Cleveland staff over 12 years ago for 4 years only and has not coached with him since. That was before BB had success with the Pats. Heck, his only prior NFL experience was with those Browns and the Houston Oilers, neither team seeing great success when Saban was there. As a position coach and coordinator in the NFL, Saban's teams are 50-46 with no division titles and 1 playoff win. Compare that to Mangini's tenure on coaching staffs in the NFL with the Ravens, Jets and Pats before becoming a HC with a 96-64 record, 5 division titles, 4 AFC championship game appearances, and 3 championships.

true, right?

Conveniently forgot to mention how the Browns went from worst defense in the league to the best after a 3-4 years with Saban as defensive coordinator.

Or how he resurrected Michigan State.

Or how he put LSU football on the map.

actually...i think i read where both brian and nick coached on a staff together, as young men under brians father. can't remember elder bilacheks name, but he was the head coach, and both nick and brian learned their football under him. so i think it is a different bilachek he decipled under

or how Bill calls Nick all the time for advice
or how Bill says he actually learned most of his coaching techniques from Nick

until the Phlubs start winning (and consistently), they gonna get & take crap from every others teams players/coaches/and fans...

or forgot to mention how A BOATLOAD of the players on the patriots were from LSU or recommendations from seeing them play. nick def had alot to do with the patriots dynasty.

Very true. Saban's 3rd and 4th year in Cleveland they were a solid playoff team and a top 5 defense who went 11-5. He turned around 2 mediocre programs in Michigan St. and LSU. Actually got part of a national championship with LSU, which before Saban got there hadn't won anything. Mangini was also not considered a coach until about 6 years ago, before that he was a glorified ball boy.

Also funny because with all of Mangini's so called genius. They are giving up 140 rushing yards per game and are the 29th ranked defense overall. The only reason they are winning is because Pennigton is healthy again and playing great ball. Without Chad P. overachieving this year they are 0-4 right now, bottom line.

Didn't the oilers make the playoffs both years Saban was there? I could be wrong though, as I never followed the oilers.

Oilers made the playoff both years Saban was there. Cleveland's only decent play during the Bellichick years was the defense, under Saban. Also Bellichick credits Saban for teaching him most of what he knows on defense, kind of shoots your whole theory out of the water now doesn't it?

Thats an interesting statement I have never seen anywhere before. I am curious to know;

Name the "boatload' of LSU players that contributed to the Patriots SB wins.

no he isn't a disciple..... he's a counterpart.

and i'm not positive but i believe i read that BB and Saban were both assistant coaches on BB's dads team back in the day.
