Tannenbaum came to Miami is January of 2015 as executive vice president of football operations. Dennis Hickey was the GM but MT was put in position to take over and was in Ross' ear. Ross wanted to make a splash and MT identified Suh as that player since he was the biggest FA on the market that year.

2015 draft (original slots)

Round 1, Pick 14 (14th overall) DeVante Parker = underachieving in 2016

Round 2, Pick 14 (47th overall) Jordan Phillips = drafted too high. Developmental player should have been a 4th round pick like Soliai. (Miami sent the No. 47 and No. 191 picks to the Eagles in exchange for picks 52, 145 and 152.) Hickey wanted G, Mitch Morse. Others wanted MLB Denzel Perryman. THIS WAS TANNENBAUMS PICK.

Round 4, Pick 15 (114th overall) Jamil Douglas - FLOP

Round 5, Pick 9 (145th overall) Bobby McCain - Inconsistent - average player

Round 5, Pick 13 (149th overall) Jay Ajayi - Minimal impact. Not easy to gauge due to inept o-line.

Round 5, Pick 14 (150th overall) Cedrick Thompson - CUT

Pick 5-156 from PHi: Tony Lippett = Minimal impact

Round 6, Pick 15 (191st overall) Traded to Eagles in JP trade.

Many of these picks with the exception of 1 can be assigned to Dennis Hickey as well - Another fail. Especially if you look at his FA pickups. Hickey's 2014 draft class....

JaWuan James - BUST
Jarvis Landry - HIT
Billy Turner - BUST
Walt Aikens - OK but great ST player
Arthur Lynch - BUST
Jordan Tripp - BUST
Matt Hazel - BUST
Terrence Fede - BUST

(Grade D)

2016 draft (original slots) (100% Mike Tannenbaum)

Traded away the equivalent of the 78th overall pick to acquire Byron Maxwell and Kiko Alonso. In hind sight, Maxwell is a highly overpaid BUST. Alonso was probably worth a 5th rounder by himself just to upgrade from Sheppard at MLB.

Round 1: Pick 13 (13th overall), acquired from Philadelphia in trade. Laremy Tunsil - Lucky no brainer pick....so far.

Round 2: Pick 11 (42nd overall). Traded • 2016 second round pick (#42-Kamalei Correa) • 2016 fourth round pick (#107-Chris Moore) to Ravens for • 2016 second round pick (#38-Xavien Howard) = Jury still out

Round 3: Pick 10 (73rd overall). Kenyan Drake. Not easy to gauge due to inept o-line.

TRADE UP to Pick 3-86:Traded • 2016 sixth round pick (#196-Blake Countess) • 2017 third round pick (?-?) • 2017 conditional fourth round pick (Dolphins compensatory pick if they are awarded such, else Dolphins next lowest pick) (?-?) to Vikings for • 2016 third round pick (#86-Leonte Carroo) BENCH Player

Round 4: Pick 9 (107th overall). Traded AWAY • 2016 second round pick (#38-Xavien Howard) to Dolphins for • 2016 second round pick (#42-Kamalei Correa) • 2016 fourth round pick (#107-Chris Moore) on 2016-04-29

Round 5: Pick 8 (147th overall). TRADED to Patriots

Round 6: Pick 11 (186th overall). Jakeem Grant:

Pick 6-204 for Jordan Lucas. Traded • 2016 fifth round pick (#147-Quinton Jefferson) to Patriots for • 2016 sixth round pick (#196-Blake Countess) • 2016 sixth round pick (#204-Jordan Lucas) • 2016 seventh round pick (#250-Scooby Wright III)

Pick 7-223 Traded • Jamar Taylor • 2016 seventh round pick (#250-Scooby Wright III) to Browns for • 2016 seventh round pick (#223-Brandon Doughty)

Round 7: Pick 10 (231th overall), acquired from Baltimore in trade; Pick 10 (231st overall). Thomas Duarte = Practice Squad player

2016: Draft TRADED AWAY 3rd and 4th round picks

I don't see how anyone can look at this resume and conclude that Mike Tannenbaum is even close to a competent GM. His biggest acquisition is Ndamukong Suh and he was a no brainer EXCEPT if your going to expect too much and put scrubs next to him. It was a misuse of funds at minimum. Complete waste of resources.

This team would have beeb better off signing Dan Williams ($6M), Nick Fairley ($5M) and Jabal Sheard ($5.5M) in 2015 and still coming out $3M ahead.

Which player do you see from the list above that has worked out?

I give him a F-.

I have ZERO expectations for anyone on this team until he is gone. He is worse than Jeff Ireland, IMO.

I give him a "G"....worst than a "F".

Let's also not forget that our visionary football "czar" instead of having to leave the league because he had no other takers, would have happily accepted a demotion to Jets Capologist because Woody Johnson liked him - if not for incoming GM candidates expressing issues with him still being in the building.

How do we rid ourselves of him is the question

Or the other question....How long? Considering it took Ross 3.25 years to get of Philbin, who was just the HC, I can only imagine that the VP would get even more time to fail. That means Adam Gase's tenure PLUS another coach and GM before Mike finally gets fired. Jeff Ireland got 6 years before he was fired. 4 of them as the actual GM. I'm not sure I have that kind of time to devote to another failure. 42 years and this ahead of me? I can't see it. 5-6 years from 2015 = 2021?

That's why fans need to be calling for his head instead of Tannehill's. The only reason they starting calling out Ireland in the first place was because of his blatant public screw-ups....Dez Bryant interview, etc.

Well, thanks for making a Monday even worse.

Looks like nothing but fail for MT.

Just horrible. I still really hate that Caroo trade.

I'm not sure what's worse you spending all that time and effort to put that together or the results of what you put together

as for tannenbaum :bobdole:

I don't say this lightly...
After seeing everything there in it's entirety...That may be worse than Ireland.
And if not worse, it's at least a discussion. Ugh! It's like the nightmare never ends.

Dolphins eat $3M and create $5.5M in cap space cutting Maxwell after this season. But he walks away with $11.5M for one (so far) bad yr. SMH

Does that definitely tip the scales for you?

I said years ago...only two worse GMs in the league than Ireland (at the time). Mike Tannenbaum of the Jets and Gene Smith of the Jaguars. And Gene Smith was the worst of the three by a long shot. So, in Dolphins fashion, it would make sense to hire him next.

I think we need to clean the whole thing up and start from scratch. Get rid of everyone from the team executives to the waterboy. A total house cleaning.

$11.5 mil of business decisions and I don't give a damn

well done Miami...well damn done
