Grading The Dolphins Draft

With luck in the health department and maybe 1 or 2 veteran signings in the thinner areas (CB, LB) I think the team could surprise and win 10-11 and slip.into the playoffs (doubtful they advance to the AFCC however--too much inexperience to play the kind of low error football that requires). This team is going to be better at running the ball and at stopping the run than last year. Also expecting more takeaways with an improved pass rush. Besides the anticipated subtraction of Ramsey, I don't see any part of this team that is worse and most are improved--some dramatically. Team culture should also be upgraded.

Of course if injuries hit like they did last year and most of the youngsters fail to catch on and develop then 6-7 wins is probably the floor. This is a soft rebuild after all.

thanks. i am not sure if that is a prediction, or an upside case. when you start with "with luck" that is not a base case prediction for the team. it seems you are saying the upside is 10-11 wins and an early out in the playoffs, and the downside is 6-7 wins. spilt the difference, and it seems your base case prediction is roughly .500. i agree. that is my base case too, after the draft, and accounting for whatever additional signings they do. ergo once again, like kissing your sister and nothing to write home about.

I'll go with that. Still, I think the trajectory is better than it was 2 years ago, so there's that.
