There are rumblings that Daniel Graham wants out of New England, but neither he nor his agent, Jack Mills, have said anything publicly about his contract.

As much as I hate the Patriots and would love to see them lose their key players, I fail to see how this would be much of a blow to them. The quality of recievers has never been much for them, but so long as Brady is at the top of his game, he does very well regardless.

Graham is a very important part of the offence and he is also the only person who was made an exception and made into a captain in the middle of the season by the players+coaches.

He is also brady`s security blanket and against blitzing fronts he is a very important in the protection scheme. Also , to run a 2 TE offence you need 3/4 TE`s.Also , TE avg sal is 3.5 million and i think with 30 million cap room i hope they cannot loose this key guy.

He is seldom used as the FB against DL in running games.

I'm not going to cry if they lose a good player. No matter what anyway, these things never seem to hurt them.

Not really as important as you make him out to be. The Patriots pass to about 9 different players a game.

it's funny, Ben Watson has all this big play potential and got a lot of preseason hype, but he's got horrible hands. Watson is the reason Graham will probably leave.

BG was huge for the Pats on TE screens the last couple of years, and is a great blocker.

I bet he goes to to Denver if he leaves NE. 1)He grew up in Colorado 2)Schaeffer is a receiving TE and not much more 3)Alexander sucks

he has been a starter everygame he has played in the last 2 yrs.

Hmm, thought their #1 TE was Ben Watson. I mean I know they run 2 TEs, but still I figured he'd be the #2 guy.

LOL I just looked at the stats

Watson 49 catches 643 yards 3 tds

Graham 21 catches 235 yards 2 tds

doesn't sound like starting TE status to me. He might start....but not really.

shabby correction

When the OL went down if you notice scholbel, mathis and freeney were kept at bay by him.He is the only TE who bb sends against DL.Its even more impresive considering when he is injured the running games produces less and brady gets sacked more.watson is a nightmare to be left to block big OLB and DL .He is not a blocking TE.watson is the receiving TE ,thomas the new TE is going to have better numbers and had a 100yrd game but when in blitz package like against the Jets you will see graham in on every play.
BB and tom compare him to a extra OL who they can send underneath as a receiver.

I am not suprised the patriots rarely have good stats .I think he might goto the bronco`s as he is from their and also his father played for the bronco`s.

I wouldn't mind getting him. Nothing wrong with using two TEs.

But he'll probbaly ask for a big pay day or the Pats will trade him for high round picks.

And for some reason I see him ending up with Oakland.

He is a UFA so they cannot trade unless they franchise him.

also , the cap with the nfl minimu rookie pool is around 13.1 million and after a few cuts it might go up to 18 million and the need to fill about 20 players for rooster.DO you think spending 1/4 th of that money 1 player to compete for a starting job is wise ? leaving around 12-13million for 19 starters and about 20 players for minicamp.
