I read this article on my way to church Sunday morning and felt the need to share this with all of my fellow Finfans! Saban's Master Plan

Just a snip...

Written by Mike Bianchi of the Orlando Santinel
Nick Saban slept in on the morning of his first Dolphins draft, woke up refreshed and even took the time to shine his shoes.

This is how it is for a man who has a plan.

No angst, no apprehension, no ants in his pants.

Saban may be a rookie head coach in the NFL, but this job is something he has prepared for his entire professional life. He isn't just another college coach who is trying to succeed in the pros. He is a pro coach who happened to succeed in college.

Thanks for sharing.
I found the article "ok".

Nothing in there we have not heard already IMO.

It would be nice if the Herald and Sun Sentinal would write something positive about the coach instead of always finding someway to put him in a bad light.

It says I have to register too.
If you could post any highlights of the article, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I read that Sunday morning as well. It was a very favorable article, which is definitely a switch for the Orlando Sentinel. That beached whale, Jerry Greene, slams the Dolphins everyday on the radio & in his columns during football season.

I heard that Shula embarrassed him on more than one occasion while Jer was covering the Fins in the mid-70's. These newspaper guys really love to hold a grudge....Saban better watch out for Skolnick!:D

Good read.

To not have to register, just go to the orlando sentinel website and search Nick Saban it's like the 10th article or so.

I kind of like the fact that the Herald and Sentinal are critical. I think we all know that Saban is a great planner, a great coach, and all that good stuff. It is nice to read something that shows you a Saban we might not usually think about. He's human, he has flaws, it is nice to read both the good and the bad. For the most part, all of the literature I've found has been very positive about him (the second coming of Bill B in most people's mind).

"We've actually done a study on the first-round draft picks of the last 10 years and found that receivers were a lot more risky to take in the first round than running backs," Saban stated.

It seems almost comical that a sports writer who has spent 10 minutes compiling a mock draft would second-guess Saban, who has analyzed the past 10 years of the real draft.

I love Mike Bianchi's honesty its in every column he writes

Skolnick is one of the better writers covering the Dolphpins IMO. He tells it how he sees it, maybe not always how it is, but he's relatively accurate in his comments.

Saban's absolute power and autocratic methods will only go over in Miami if he wins -- and, of course, he will. He's too prepared, too committed and too good a coach not to.

It won't be long until the Dolphins are glistening once again in the South Florida sun.

Their future is brighter than the shine on Little Nicky Napoleon's shoes

My absolute favorite part of the article....
