Great Article on Roth

I like Matt Roth alot. What about the article made you fall in love with him?

I like the fire that he has. The part when it was talking about how he got pissed after being pushed around all day by Gallery shows that this guy gives 200% in every play. I like players that get pissed and come out on the next play to show the other guy who's the better player.
 
The description I've read of Roth reminds me of Eddie Cochren in the replacements.(The insane swat cop playing middle linebacker). I read somewhere where it said the coaches had to blow plays dead early from fear of Roth hurting an offensive player, and I instanly remembered, "Eddie, we don't hit the guys with the red jerseys, they're our Quarterbacks. Remember Eddie red means stop, like a stop sign" "Right coach"

Strengths
Matt has good size, speed and athletic talent for his position. He has a good burst off the line of scrimmage and uses good technique to free himself for sacks against his opponent. He makes offensive coaches account for him on every play in their game plans. Matt plays every play and every down with the same passion that you and I have for the game. It is a passion born from competition and wanting to be the best.


Needs to Improve
Matt needs to learn how to be stronger at the point of attack. I have no doubt that he will.


Bottom Line
Matt is just going to be a core player and a fan favorite for the team that drafts him. He can be used in a 4-3 scheme or a 3-4 scheme. He can rush the passer or fall off the line of scrimmage to allow others to rush. Matt has some linebacker skills to go along with his DE skills. I think some teams that should be drooling to get Matt should be the Patriots, the Steelers and the Dolphins, among many others. Matt is relentless and seems like he plays a little out of control, but the scouts that say that are playing games with you. I call him Matt ‘Psycho’ Roth because everybody says this kid is a little nuts. I think he is just smart enough to let you think that about him.

"Sorry coach, the red just gets me fired up like a bull, I just wanna hit something."
