Yes there are many similiarities. The difference is that Flynn is MUCH younger than green, Philbin is coming from a much better offense, and the argument that we are getting a back up that couldnt start elsewhere....seriously he was the back up tom, arguably, the best qb in the game. Also, Flynn is coming from a team that has had numerous back ups succeed elsewhere.
