Great Chris Long article

Good read, thanks.

"I don't know of a player in this draft who has no negatives," says Gil Brandt, draft analyst for NFL.com and former vice president of player personnel for the Dallas Cowboys. "Except Chris Long."

High praise from a guy that knows.

Now I know why I don't subscribe to SI anymore. That article / story was about as "run of the mill" as they come in my opinion. It certainly didn't raise Longs' draft stock any in my opinion, and it really made him sound more like a product of his father than of himself...

After reading that, I actually lost some of the enthusiasm that I once had for drafting C. Long. Instead of being the dominant football player I was envisioning, I now view C. Long as more of an overachiever than anything else. As for being rated the best DE in entering the draft, I'm not so sure I buy that anymore after reading that story. It almost sounds as if he's being hyped by people / coaches in the business who can do him these types of favors. Sorry, I know I may sound like I'm being over critical, but that's the way it came across to me personally. I almost wish I hadn't read that now....

PHINZ RULE!!!!

Chris Long leads all all the draftees in sacks and tackles for loss, in a system that mainly had him taking up blockers. He runs almost an identical 40 time to Shawne Merriman did at his Pro Day at the same height and weight, and is among the Top 5 in all of the agility drills at the Combine.

And he's all just a product of his father?

Yeah, hate to have those "over achievers" on the team. Imagine a team full of Zach Thomas' and Aaron Kampmans. Gawd, what a nightmare that would be.

Chris grabbed Daves's laptop computer, called up the Texas Tech website and clicked on the bio of left tackle Rylan Reed. Daves asked him why. "Because he's got my lunch money," Chris responded
