Since they were essentially traded for eachother, KC Joyned decided to compare both players.

I'll break it down in a bit.
In the meantime, here is a snippet

The short pass yards per attempt is an excellent number, especially considering how many short passes were thrown his way. His medium numbers are adequate, but could use some improvement. Allen's big problems in 2005 came on deep passes, as the 12.9 yards per attempt figure is quite high.

'If Allen has some problems against deep passes in 2006, the Dolphins will be able to give him some help by sending a safety over to help bracket cover the receiver.

'Finally, the age difference alone makes this a questionable long-term move for the Giants -- Allen is 27, Madison 31.

'I believe there are two reasons the Dolphins ended up with the better end of this bargain. First of all, Allen's deep pass metrics are actually somewhat misleading. He had one very bad game covering Santana Moss in the Giants' Week 16 matchup at Washington. Moss beat Allen twice on deep passes for a total of 131 yards and two TDs. If you factor out that game, Allen would have only allowed 6.4 yards per deep pass attempt and 6.7 yards per total attempt, both very good totals. '

Can't read the article but we definately got the long end of the stick. Allen is younger, stronger, and fits what Saban is trying to do on defense. Madison was a good corner for us but i think that it was time for him to move on.

Madison was already slipping, and I believe in JJ's principle that its best to cut a guy one year early.

Allen's knock is also that he's got stone hands.... supposedly he's dropped many (should-be) interceptions. This was from Sid (a huge N.Y. Giants fan) on the Sid & O.J. (McDuffie) Show.

Meanwhile I'm thinking that Sam Madison has had the same flaw over the last three years.....

This is off topic, but you writing that made me remember that ZT's contract runs through 2008. That means that it's conceivable that he will no longer be a Dolphin as soon as two years from now (designating him a "June 1" cap casualty to spread his remaining dead cap over the 2008 and 2009 seasons). It's a bummer, at least to me.

Yeah I saw that article but I don't have insider, thanks man!
I think Will Allen is HUGE for us. CB was our weakest posistion last year (that's a close race with QB lol). Madison was old and slowing down, Allen has some good years ahead of him and if he can just learn to hang on to like 4 balls a year, he will be huge. My perspective is if he shuts down the WR, he doesn't need to catch it because it won't be thrown at him.

None Of That Stuff Matters If They Are Beating Him On The Go Ahead T.d.
