great read...hint of miami wanting O line and D line again

we need to bolster our lines on both sides of the ball...on defense we need a genuine bonafide 3-4 NT..i feel we're set at both DE spots,just depth there now..we sure need ILB and OLB...on offense we're set at LT,depth there now... we need LG,C,and RG,and depth there too...
 
The D-line is fine in my view. I know there are some older guys, but the rotation we had going on was real good. The only change there that might be needed is if the organization does not view Soliai as the NT of the future. If that's the case then we need to draft one early (BJ Raji would be my pick).

The O-line is a different story. I think both guard spots and the center should be an open competition. We don't need any big name free agents but I would add a few interior linemen in the draft. We should have seven or eight guys competing for those spots. I know Smiley would probably win pending his health.
 
With the DE's we have I think it would be foolish to spend decent money on canty. Starks, Merling, Langford and Wright along with Dotson are just fine they just need to learn.
 
im glad they want to build the lines more but if we go into next season with goodman and Hill as starters i will be furious.

I still remember Cotcherys td in the season opener, or the entire texans game in which andre johnson had his way, or Lee evans going to town on him.

I mean the guy made some plays but fundamentally we can do better. not to mention Will allen is getting older, so gettign another corner in here is a smart movie either way.

That was earlier in the season when he sucked though. Since then he has been really great .. I don't know what the hell happened but he has played much better since those games. I agree on the age part though .. all our DB's aren't exactly young I believe

Ireland said on a PC a few weeks ago they were targeting many Dal players lats offseason but they came away with fasano, fergie, and akin.

problem is considering the season we just had and the fact that dallas missed the playoffs, and considering ferguson, fasano, and ayodele were starters and integral parts of our team for only a 4th and 6th rounder......

it seems unlikely jerry jones will be willing to deal with us for players in the future considering the public perception he got fleeced by parcells

That perception is flawed they got rid of two players one to upgrade with Bennet and the other was a cost factor. The trade worked out for us but we did not fleece them. None of the three players we got from them would have had much impact for them this year and none would have started. that being said the cowboys are not supremely talented and the cupboard is not as full for players we need.
 
If we go into next season without a receiver thats taller than 6' and weights more than 200 lbs i'll be furious!!! (minus Ernest Wilford of course)
