Could the Dolphins be willing to trade for Trent Green and sign David Carr?
In the past I would think this might be kind of funny, but if you look at what Tampa Bay did, anything could happen.
FYI for those that don't know what Tampa Bay did,
Signed FA Jeff Garica and then traded for Jake Plummer.

Thoughts?

I have no opinion on this just yet, I haven't really thought this through.:D

reason they signed garcia is because jake was pondering about retirement and then went into retirement

They signed Garcia before anything about Jake's retirement came out. Even after the fact, the Bucs still went ahead with the trade of Plummer. The Bucs had a chance to back out after word got out about Jake's retirement. Even though Jake went ahead and retired, the Bucs are stuck with a cap hit. Don't ask me why, because I don't know for sure.

Sure why not? Green is worth a 7th rd as a mentor to whoever is the starter and Carr is free.

Sign both of them to backup contracts with starter incentitives built in.

Open competition between CPep, Green, Carr, and Lemon.
May the best QB win, second best be the backup, third best can hold the clipboard, and the forth best can find a new job.

In Your Opinions when we know if this is green or carr ?

I read many articles with dolphins interest in green or carr, but IYO when we will have one of them on board, after training camp , before, or after the draft ?

thanks

My guess would be by this week for the start of QB camp. Definitely before the draft.

If they are going to draft a QB then I think Trent is a good mentor but I like carr's age and his abilty. I know some people are thinking Harrington (Which for the record I liked Harrington) I think Carr has a little more confidence and skill.

I'd take Carr over Green. I'm not sure Green ever really recovered from that hit he took. He looked kind of gunshy out there. I've followed Carr since his days at Fresno St. and the man has skills. Green may be better at the present time but Carr could be a long term plan and still has a lot of potential.

I think we really want Green but why give up anything when nobody else wants him and his salary? Now Carr is out there on the street and no picks to give and younger.

Why on earth would anyone give anything up for Green when the only hicup is the salary to Green? Carr can be taken.

I think we want to show interest in Carr to get other teams to take him that are in the draft ahead of us. If none of the teams go for Carr, then we know that Cleveland or Vikings will take Quinn or Russell should things change.

Its going to get interesting and I like how Mueller is handling this stuff. I think we end up with Green though because of the relationship and the O knowledge and we draft a QB.
