Green signed contract worth $10 million less to join Dolphins

He really wanted to be here...
Actually, he just wanted a team he could start for. Miami gave him the best chance, but it isn't like Green is a huge Dolphins fan. If KC wanted him to start this year, he would have stayed there.

Why is there always someone who has to put a negative to a positive. Have a little optimism and support your new QB while our future QB develops.

Completely off base. He wanted to get out of KC for quite a few reasons besides having to compete for the starting position, not the least of which is that their offensive system isn't the one in which he prefers to play. Miami, on the other hand, runs that offensive system.

:clapping:

Man it's crazy that they can put your financial terms out there, so in detail like that. That would make me uncomfortable

Totally misleading heading. He would not have earned that if he stayed in KC because he would have restructed to stay. Senseless

Actually, Trent said he would refuse to restructure. I imagine they would have ended up cutting him at the first of the season rather than pay him those numbers, but Carl repeatedly said that they'd be perfectly happy keeping him on the team with his current salary. Of course, I think that was just posturing for the sake of negotiation, but we'll never really know because it didn't come to that.

exactly

the day Huard re-upped, Green was going to get $0 from KC

edit:
I was wrong. It would the could spread the cap hit over 2 years, thus halving it. Trent wouldn't have gotten the money, though.

Herme isn't exactly a QB friendly coach...

I think Green saw what some of the more negative or sarcastic people around here are missing. The Dolphins STILL have a very good D. Weren't we ranked 4th last year?

He still wants what every pro QB dreams of, & he sees a chance here to accomplish that....
