so NOT that I think he is or should be a teams number 1 Wr.
However i was talkin to my buddy the other day (who watches all the games with me) and he asked why he couldnt be a legit number 1... It took me awhile to try to answer. He said from what i see he catches in traffic better than most WR's in the league, solid hands, nice routes, and has shown he has the speed the take it to the house. And unlike most number 1's he hustles after a Pick and causes a fumble.
So let me ask you guys what have you seen so far to tell you he cant be a number 1??
i know he is no Reggie wayne or Fitz or any player of that caliber but why not?

I dont know about legit number 1, but he is defitnetly our number 1 reciever. I mean look at his numbers 21 rec 263 12.5 yds a catch and 1 TD. Then you look at a guy like Roy Williams and he has 17 rec for 232 yds and 1 TD, but he is averaging 13.6 yds a catch. We will see at the end of the season, but I cannot believe this guy was walk in Punter for Standford.

Excellent Question..... Maybe we should get a guy like Terrence Copper in here after all, to help Greg.

I would answer your question with a question- do you think he could,

1st) regularly make plays against opposing defenses #1 DBs and

2nd) draw double coverage enough to make our #2 receiver shine?

He has been lineup as a number 1 reciever several times and since the offense we run has the ball going to so many targets you probably wont see double coverage. He will probably start drawing along with Fasano if he keeps improving his numbers.

at this point we play him like a number 2 and if he starts making teams pay for that, they'll move thier number onto him, and hopefully our then number 2 (ginn) can finally start getting behind the cbs.

Im to the point where I seriously wish our Organization would let go of both Wilford and Hagan and bring in two WR that can contribute. When guys like Eric Parker and Terrance Cooper are out there that can play ST and play Reciever it makes me wonder why they have not been signed already. Seriously at this point I would risk Cooper over Hagan any day.

Isn't this organization about turning every stone. Well start signing players of the street.

Not trying to be funny here, What defines a number one Reciever?

hmmm
1) from what i see late in games once ginn has assured the other team he not showing up he does face the other teams best db and he seems to do fairly well.

2) I dont see him being doubled but i do see safety help and he still makes the post look as nice as it can.

im not saying i do think he is a number 1 no questions asked, BUT he seems to be trying to change my mind more and more every week.

To me a real #1 WR is someone that makes the defense roll coverage to their side then still makes plays.

There are not a'lot in the NFL anymore.Roy Williams can't make plays when teams roll their coverage to his side, that's why he himself calls himself a #2 WR.

he's def not the number one on any other nfl team imo but he's OUR #1.sometimes when you're asked to step up good things happen. he'd probably be a situation guy elsewhere but like gadsen he's playing well within our system. he was a bubble cut.but he's definately earned a bigger paycheck either here or elsewhere next year. i still can't believe hagen made it out of camp. and ginger makes top ten draft money. go greg!

Camarillo doesn't get enough separation. He can still make the catches when he's covered, and that's why he's been successful. But, a real #1 WR is better at getting more separation.

He is not a number 1 but he a really good number 2 or 3. Im hoping one day soon we will have a receiving core where we have a true number 1, Ginn at number 2, camarillo and bess working the slots.

Eric Parker has hands of stone as well and is just as bad as Wilford and Hagan. He would not help us.

Terrance Copper is would advocate for a try out.
