I think he is a very high possibility as being our pick at #26 overall

Greg Hardy OLB Ole Miss
6-5 260 4.6
Miami needs another pass rusher to pair up with Joey Porter. Hardy Had an awesome 2007 season with 10 sacks and 18 tackles for loss and he played in the SEC! He would be a lock to go in the top ten if he played more than 8 games this season due to ankle injury, but in those 8 games he played, he 8.5 tackles for loss and 9.5 sacks.

They say he plays like DeMarcus Ware...Who draft Ware again? lol

he's one i'd love to see in a phins uniform next season...

Yeah, if he can play OLB I would love this pick. Looks like we could have a nice crop of OLB to pick from cause someone out of Everette Brown, Hardy, Sintim, Orakpo, Michael Johnson, Aaron Curry, Cushing, Sean Witherspoon, Clay Matthews, and Larry English. I know not all these guys are 1st round grade but its nice that we should be able to grab at least one OLB in the first two rounds. We need depth at LB to run a 3-4

I can see it. He has great potential, but he's high risk/reward so he also has the potential to be another Quentin Moses. Ireland will decide if the Dolphin's can afford the risk.

I like Hardy the best out of the OLB crop out of everyone except maybe Clint Sintim. Hardy's still got a lot of red flags in his past though; always a thing to be wary of, esepcially with Parcells.

I still think if faced with the choice between Sintim or Hardy, Parcells will choose the SOLB prospect (Sintim) for a variet of reasons: familiarity with Al Groh, prior experience in the 3-4, he wanted Shawne Merriman, the SOLB prospect over DeMarcus Ware the WOLB prospect in 2005, and Sintim doesn't have the rap sheet that Hardy does, and Sintim won't be a conversion prospect - Sintim can play from day one. Hardy is two years younger though, which might be a +1 to his side.

I agree, Sintim to me is going to be the pick if he is there. Hardy is going to be a great player too but SIntim is an immediate upgrade that is close to being gauranteed. His experience in the 3-4 with Al Groh is huge bonus and I'm sure Al is singing his praises to Bill and the boys. Would be happy with either even if Hardy may take a little more work.

Took the words right out of my mouth. It'd be gravy if we got to choose between the two of them. My gut is telling me not to expect that, so I'll be happy if one or the other falls to Miami's pick.

I've also warmed up to the idea of an impact safety like Taylor Mays, extremely unlikely to fall that far, William Moore, or Rashad Johnson after seeing the devastation Ed Reed caused in a single game. I can't really remember the Dolphins having a good FS dating from the present day back to Brock Marion.

Of course, that secondary was deadly with Madison and Surtain on the corners, Marion at FS, Brian Walker was decent, and we had Terrell Buckley as a nickel, arguably the best triumverate of CBs in the last 10 years.

i would much rather have a OLB in the first round instead of a FS. Not all 1st round FS are gonna tear it up like ed reed does... :)

i dont see any of the FS being a player to dominate like him but i could see some beast LBs

I guess I should've prefaced my comment a little better. I'd only accept a S if Hardy, Sintim, and Raji are off the board when we pick. In my eyes, they're the only realistic targets that will be there at OLB. I could deal with Cushing, but I think he's vastly overrated and isn't suited for the 3-4.

If those guys are gone, or Cushing is the only one left and Mays and/or Moore are there; both of those guys are going to make a greater impact than Cushing would.

Yea Cushing is blah . . . and I definitely don't expect Mays to leave the top 10 . . . his combine should be amazing . . . he weighs like 235lbs . . . and people are hinting that he could run something sub 4.3. Sick!!

I definitely wouldnt mind Moore tho, I think he makes it to our pick. Just a hunch.

I think you're right on in regards to Mays - unless his #'s are vastly inflated, which they could be - he didn't really strike me as terribly fast on the field the three times I saw USC this year, but I doubt he lasts past pick 12 max.

It's hard to really judge Moore because the Missouri defense, like most in the Big 12, is just downright awful. They played him in the box a lot more this year as opposed to his junior season when he flourished as a centerfielder type. He's also a good sight bigger this year as well.

with how Hardy is gonna test out, and the fact that he's been pretty productive when healthy, I can't see Hardy being available where we'll be drafting. BUt I salivate at the thought of lining him and Porter across from each other on 3rd down.
