Greg Stoda's article..Very Disturbing

http://www.palmbeachpost.com/dolphins/content/sports/epaper/2005/09/01/fbsec_stoda_0901.html

"That the Dolphins might swoon from last season's bad to this season's worse is no great secret."
"The bottom-line possiblities, at least in one man's opinion, range from 2-14 if enough things go miserably wrong to 6-10 if enough things go astonishingly right. So, hey, put me down square in the middle at 4-12, which would represent exactly zero change from last season in the strict sense of mathematical application."

"The absolute determination of whether these Dolphins turn out to be any better or worse than those Dolphins won't come about until all the evidence is in sometime after the New Year's Day 2006 loss at New England, of course"
This guy seems to be Nostradamus or Miss Cleo to predict January 2006
"It's a good thing the Dolphins will be entertaining to watch on defense, because that's what they're going to be playing most of the time."
:shakeno:

I think we have a very good defense. If madison, howard and daniels play well, we will be a top 5 defense.

We also have good special teams and the makings of a good running game.

Those things alone pretty much give you 6+ wins a year.

A lot of our success from that point on is based on our QBs. If they play smart, control the game, and take what the defense gives them, we will be an 8-8 9-7 team.

Of course, if the QBs play outstanding, we will get into the playoffs.

I think Stoda was just trying to push some buttons with readers. Think about all that went wrong last year...

Ricky quits, so there goes the 70% of the offense.

We get a rookie OC who really has no offense system to teach.

A totally rebuilt OL, with bad coaching on top of that.

A QB controversy that went on until Wanny quit about halfway through the season.

Wanny, who had a simple gameplan and never adjusted it, come what may.

All that, and the Dolphins STILL managed to win FOUR games last year? That tells me that this Saban coached team, with real offensive and defensive schemes, and frankly more offensive talent (Ricky, Ronnie, a healthy Boston) is easily capable of more than four lousy wins!

I see 8-9 wins, and if Feeley or Gus step up and have a career year, along with some good breaks? I see a 10-12 win season. A lot has to go right -well everything really,to get near 12 wins, I know. :D On the other hand, a lot has to go WRONG to only get 4 wins in a season too, here in the NFL era of salary cap parity.

Stoda is being foolish if he really believes this team will only manage 4 wins.

Well, to be honest we were a real threat to win less than 3 games until wanny quit, it was only after Bates took over that we became real spoilers.
