So mando just reported that ross has his favortie and its adam gase. Adam gase has never been a head coach at any level. Adam gase did not play college or pro football. Gase is 37 and just coached the 25th ranked offense on a 6-10 team. Please explain to me what are the credentials of this beta mala? Dont tell me anything about peyton manning he did all that on his own he is his own OC. And to top it off ross is gonna ask a rookie GM and a rookie Head Coach to pull this franchise outta the grave?

Has ross studied our history? No coach without prior NFL HC experience has ever won a playoff game with the dolhins. Wilson, saban, cameron, sparano, philbin have a combined record of 93-131 0-1 playoffs. Shula, johnson, and wanny all came with prior nfl HC exp. What was their record in miami? 335-192 2 superbowls 20-19 playoff record. The last 4 coaches in miami came with no exp and were epic failures. We need a tom coughlin, mike shanahan, sean payton, hue jackson, doug marrone, chip kelly. We need a coach who has been an NFL HC before and had moderate success. Can put together a quality staff and not allow team meetings at strip clubs. We cant afford on the job training anymore.

This team can win and win now we have the pieces im not giving this job to an adam gase type so we can be back here again in 3 years. Ross is a bafoon and needs to sell the team. Tannenbaum wants full control so he will hire a yes man to bow down. Tannenbaum was picking the 46 man roster for campbell and wants to continue doing it. Ross has now blown our chance at cowher in 2010, gruden in 2011, harbaugh in 2012, and maybe payton in 2015 because he refuses to clean house. He takes half measures. Real estate is his passion this is just a side job, a hobby.

AND IF ANY COACH DESERVES TO COACH THIS FRANCHISE WITHOUT NFL HC EXP ITS MIKE SHULA JR!!!

Former Lions head coach George Wilson didn't have prior NFL head coaching experience (for example, as head coach of the Lions)? Mike Shula is a Jr.? Bafoon is spelled that way?

You leave me with many questions fraulein.

Bring on Gase or Austin or Shanahan or Coughlin or Jackson.

Look at the improvement that Jay Cutler made this season without Brandon Marshall, Kevin White(IR) and limited Alshon Jeffery. He is highly praised around the league. He was set to be the 49ers head coach last season but wouldn't keep Tomsula as DC so they didn't hire him. Look how that turned out for the 49ers.

Gase is yet another overrated "hot" coordinator whose history was elevated by being involved with hall of fame players. As for his time in Chicago, last I checked Chicago is not in the playoffs. Watching his interviews, dude is not inspiring. He has the personality of a Bookworm. Which is great for many things, but not to change the culture and locker room of a major franchise.

Couldn't resist
:chuckle:

It was also reported that Ross likes Hue Jackson a lot too. Hope that story holds. They guy actually made the raiders look semi competent.

Im just not seeing what was so great about Cutler/Bears offense this year compared to last.

Here's some numbers from a quick search:

Cutler 2015: comp%=64.4 / TD=21 / INT=11 / Rating=92.3
Cutler 2014: comp%=66.0 / TD=28 / INT=18 / Rating=88.6

Chicago off. 2015: ppg=20.9 yards/play=5.4 - 1st downs/gm=19.5 - 3rd down conv.=42%
Chicago off. 2014: ppg=19.9 yards/play=5.2 - 1st downs/gm=20.1 - 3rd down conv.=38%

Total Off. ranking for pts & yards:
2015 Chicago Bears: pts/gm=20.9 tot. pts=335 total yds=1,025
2014 Chicago Bears: pts/gm=19.9 tot. pts=319 total yds=1,005

Cutler 2014: throwing to Marshall and Jeffery with four games against an NFC South division that was so bad it sent a 7-8-1 team to the playoffs

Cutler 2015: throwing to Marquess Wilson and Eddie Royal against the murderer's row of the NFC West.

For comparison, even though the Bears' receiving talent was essentially vaporized between 2014 and 2015 with the Marshall trade and Jeffery missing half of the season, they still scored more points, their offensive ranking measured by SRS improved by a full two points and they improved to 10th in DVOA (team offense). The Bears' yards per pass attempt went up by almost a full freaking yard despite the fact that they had stiffs playing both starting receiver positions for 8 games this season. Oh, and their OL is still bad. Maybe not as bad as our line when we had Jason Fox starting, but bad.

Adam Gase did a good job coaching the Chicago Bears' offense this season. The Bears' passing game was actually significantly more efficient in 2015, even though the quality of opponents they faced increased significantly and the quality of their receiving corps decreased significantly. That's worth a look, folks.

That's quality coaching right there.

Good points. Looks like Im off to do some more investigating. Im not well versed in all the advanced stats n such, so doing a quick search of yds/attempt I found this. http://fifthdown.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/06/12/the-importance-of-passing-yards-per-attempt/?_r=0 Pretty helpful to guys like me who didnt fully understand its importance. Off to do some more reading. Cheers!

Adam Gase is a bright and up and coming NFL coach that is being raved about in NFL circles. If you do some research on him instead of rambling on because you hear Ross likes him does little to your credibility.

I trust my research and those in the NFL over the overreaction here on Finheaven.

I'm not the biggest analytics guy, but it can be pretty interesting to chart certain efficiency statistics and see how they play out from year to year.

YPA is a number that is actually highly volatile and varies a lot from game to game and season to season, but one thing that consistently shows up is that coaching plays a huge role in the efficiency of the passing game. That is one reason I think we need to hire Mike Shanahan to coach the Miami Dolphins: quarterbacks who play in his offense consistency perform better per pass attempt than when they're playing in someone else's offense.

I only have a three year sample for Adam Gase, but that three year sample is pretty promising.
