Grier: The Likelihood...?

How Likely Is It That Grier Gets Fired?

Grier has final say in the draft and personnel. Ross has nothing to do with that part of it. The one thing Ross does is give the green light on the amount of money he is willing to spend on contracts since he is the one paying them. But other than that he stays away from personnel decisions since that is what the GM does. You are truly clueless if you think otherwise.

This thread is discussing the likelihood Grier remains or is gone. Not a discussion of Grier's responsibility/culpability. I maintain whether I like it or anyone likes it, Grier will remain GM for the foreseeable future. Actually, if a polygraph were given, I think most here would admit Grier is likely to remain GM

It's unlikely because I think Ross is just too old and doesn't give a **** anymore since he gets along with grier he just trusts him

You also said Ross is responsible for overseeing the personnel and that is what I was responding to. That is Grier's job being the GM.

As is Ross > organizationally. That's the way it works. TOP guy is where the buck stops
Correct but he isn't involved in the personnel decisions as far as what free agents are signed or what players are drafted. That falls solely on Grier being the GM.

As I say often, I've NEVER claimed Grier is blameless. He's GM. My disagreement is with those claiming 'Grier makes the picks'

Waiting patiently for my ESPN sounder to go off on my phone. Patient bear for you Fred…View attachment 176686
It's hard to be patient anymore and have been a livid optimist for this team. But we need to blow it up and start from scratch. Starting with the gm and that Buddy Holly looking dweeb. 🐻

He's a good GM at his core responsibility - cap management and negotiations.

Is this in some alternate reality, far away from Planet Earth? Otherwise, that’s a bizarre and puzzling take.

Chris Grier is one of the worst general managers in ALL of professional sports, and you just highlighted one of his worst traits.

- Grier is the same guy that signed Will Fuller to $10.6M contract.

- Grier signed the corpse of Mario Williams to a 2 year $17M contract.

- Grier signed Byron Jones to a ludicrous $82.5M contract.

- Grier extended the porcelain doll known as Armstead, despite knowing his extensive injury history.

- Grier extended Xavien Howard multiple times, despite him being washed towards the end.

- Grier extended Jalen Ramsey.

- Grier extended Tyreek Hill.

- Grier broke the bank and gave our fragile eggshell prince himself $212.4 contract.

The main problem is that Chris Grier is so godawful at identifying and acquiring talent through the draft, that he then turns around to sign or extend players (often overpaying) to double down on his blunders. This is a cyclical occurrence throughout his tenure as the GM of the Dolphins.

I mean you can’t make this story up, but Chris Grier actually solicited the advice of HIS SON and his input for his college roommate: Cam Smith. He then drafts said player. It’s laughable and mind boggling.

You’re either a blood relative of Chris Grier or have selective amnesia.

He should have been fired last night after he hid from the cameras like a little bitch.

I find it unlikely, and in the event that he is, I find it most likely that Ross will do something stupid again like promoting Reggie McKenzie.

We need a full house cleaning. Unfortunately the owner can’t be fired. He needs to GTFO as well.

Chris Grier is a little bitch, and always will be. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words.

That picture should accompany his epithet from here and into perpetuity, because that’s the essence of this coward.

If I had a crystal ball and could look into Ross's head I would I think he would consider dumping McD after the Pats game if the team lays another turd. That would give the interim HC 2 weeks to prepare for the next game using the bye week. If McD goes, then Grier is shown the door at seasons end. No way he gets 3 chances to pick new headcoach. Ross finally grows a set and cleans the entire house.
I have a dream.

Might as well dump them both at the same time. That way Ross can get a head start looking for the next GM and Grier wouldn't be around at the trade deadline to screw things up.

100000000000000000% should be

Ross won't do it though..

If we lose next week (probably will)

everyone should go and a fire sale.

He does make the picks! That is my point! Ross doesn't make the picks!

If you seriously think Grier locks himself in a room, does his own evaluation without input from coaches and scouts, our differences are eternites apart. If you think he has input, % of blame is a reasonable debate
