The Miami Herald expects the Dolphins to retain impending free agent Brent Grimes, either via a multi-year deal or the franchise tag.
Grimes has said he doesn't want to be franchise tagged, but it would make a lot of sense for the Dolphins if a reasonable extension can't be hammered out. Going on 31, Grimes is unlikely to be reasonable as he pursues what could be his last big payday. A lucrative two-year deal that includes at least some guaranteed money in 2015 could make the most sense for both sides.

After so many unsuccessful free agent acquisitions, where so much money has been squandered over many years, we finally have a very good CB and he plays well every game (and he's a high character guy who helped to improve his teammates). Pay Grimey what he's worth.
 
Pay him day 1. If you follow his wife on twitter you know she wants to stay here. B

This is one of those times where the franchise tag could make the most sense depending upon how the negotiations go, and I feel bad for him as he earned a multi year deal, but football is a business first and foremost.

The new GM will make this entire site happy if he re-signs Grimes. That would be a huge step for Finheaven.
 
he earned every cent and some, he is our biggest hitter bar none. He needs to give a tackling camp for Phillip Wheeler and Donnel ellerbe
 
Pay him adequately and don't try to lowball him. Make sure he doesn't even consider rejecting the offer. You will not see a single Finheaven poster saying that guy is not good and that's saying something. About the only one on the team. Plus Fields most probably.
