Can't say an NFL Live report is the most legitimate source, but obviously gronk playing would change the entire dynamic of our defensive gameplan week 1, so it's something to closely monitor.

Dion Jordan played well against him in the game last season. He has the speed and size to compete with him. We should not be quivering in our boots about Gronk in week 1.

Gronk is very borderline at best to play in that game full go.

I wouldn't go that far. But, I do like the matchup!

If we are not game planning for Gronk, we are no better than we were last season..........Geez man.

amazing how people believe that based on a few plays Jordan somehow is going to shutdown Gronk. So why didn't we play him more in this type of role if this was such a certain thing. He may be able to but based on so few plays and the amount of times Miami used him that role its far from a certainity

I'm not one of those fearful of Gronk but he was ready week one last year and Belichick didn't actually let him play for weeks into the season, I remember Gronk and his people being pretty upset about it too.

We have to stop worrying about individual players and weather or not they'll play, it's like my sons little league. When the opposing pitcher throws hard, is a proven winner etc, the kids know it and shake in their boots...the result is a defeatist attitude and they usually lose before the game begins.

Are they better with a healthy Gronk, yes. Bottom line is if they can't beat the Pats during the season wtf are they going to do in the playoffs against better teams with better players?

That being said, I hope Brady doesn't play.

In all respect to Dion, that was one individual play where he successfully covered Gronk down field. Far from an adamant sample size of what he may do against him for "round 2" on opening day.

Hopefully he has a major setback like a 5th broken arm. Stop fearing the patriots people. If we can't beat them at their best, then we're not that good. They're not a superior team in this league anymore, still very good but far from unbeatable.

Good....you always want to compete against the best!

That's fair, a few plays matter very little. For me, which I posted after we drafted Jordan, I saw/see him as the anti-dominant TE because of his size, speed, length, athleticism, and now improved strength and experience. I will be overly surprised if he is VG for at least containing the TE problem we have suffered with for years. JMO

He may be available for Sept. 7th but Glasskowski won't be around for the rematch in Dec.

My apologies, if he only had the one play covering Gronk. I remember the play but I also remember that Gronk had a pretty unremarkable game.
I thought that we drafted Jordan for precisely those sort of opportunities to compete with players like Gronk.
So if I'm in the wrong, thanks for correcting me.
BTW - I wouldn't be surprised if Jordan gets a lot more snaps. He should be fully healthy. He's 12 lbs bigger and he's probably hungry for some QB blood.
