  • James Laurinaitis, ILB, Ohio State
A smart, instinctive player, Laurinaitis would be able to step in right away. It is likely we lose Crowder and with the recent investment in BC product Cameron Wake we can lay off a pass rusher this early. Parcells is known to take linebackers with early selections and this year will be no different.

  • a) Louis Delmas, FS, Western Michigan
Renaldo Hill is serviceable but we need a major upgrade. Delmas is a quick riser up draft boards and would help strengthen one of our teams biggest weaknesses.

b) Eric Wood, C, Louisville

Satele has been a major disappointment as a run blocker and just lacks the size to move NFL nose tackles. At 6-4, 309 Wood can help get a push in the run game and help bring out the true potential of our fearsome three headed monster in the backfield.

  • Phillip Hunt, OLB, Houston
Hunt is a very underrated prospect, he lead the nation in sacks and could eventually be groomed into the replacement for Porter.

  • Terrance Taylor, NT, Michigan
Taylor appears to be a disappointment at the college level but I believe he will be a better pro then he was in college. He is a space eater and keeps a solid base, he can be groomed behind Ferguson and step in, in 2010.

  • Bradley Fletcher, CB, Iowa
Allen is 32 next season and Goodman is also getting up there in years. We lack depth behind them and we need a corner who can go up against bigger targets. Fletcher possesses great size (6-2, 200) and would be an effective answer to the Randy Moss’ of the league with some experience.

  • N/A
  • a) Jeff Owens, DT, Georgia
Owens adds depth to a line that is already pretty stacked.

b) Fred Roland, OT, Duke

Roland is massive (6-8, 305) and could become a serviceable backup in time.

c) Greg Carr, WR, Florida State

We lack a big red zone target, Carr has underachieved but possesses big time size (6-6, 217) that will give us another option when passing near the goal line. (I'm not super high on him but he's the best big reciever this late and he is a local product)

Thoughts?

Just one, James Laurinaitis is totally overrated. I would be pretty unhappy if Miami picked him.

I think he's getting a little low balled, he is a very intelligent player and although he isn't the best tackler is the #2 ILB prospect in this draft by a mile.

don't dislike Little Animal, but the only two picks I really like are Delmas and Taylor. Otherwise not feeling it.

He also sucks at shedding blocks which is kind of important playing ILB in the 3/4.

The other thing I like about T.Taylor is the guy is a power lifter and will not ever be over powered by one person.

I think that the only way that we select Lauranitis at #25 is if FS Moore is gone.

So maybe Moore is on top of the board to be groomed behind and eventually take over for REnaldo Hill at FS....and if he's gone, you select Lauranitis to replace Crowder, who is most likely a goner.

I agree completely. He was a top name at the beginning of this year based on his previous year's performance and projected growth this year. He has not lived up to his projected potential. I see no upside...he is what he is and I don't think he will get any better. He will be a bust for someone.

I really wanted Spikes, to bad he is staying another year . . . Lauranitis . . . please stop bringing his name up lol.

Maulauga is a much better candidate for the 3-4, but unfortunately he is probably gone by the time we pick.

I stopped reading after I saw James L as our first pick....

I never said I was high on James L, I just think with our current situation in makes sense, im likely going with English or Cushing the more I think about it. FYI thebow you liked my mock on NFLDC.
