The Miami Herald reports Georgia RB Todd Gurley (ACL surgery) is unlikely to play in the first month of the season, "conservatively."

"Several people I speak with are saying you pick him for the long-term rather than the first month of his rookie season," writes reporter Armando Salguero. Gurley may begin his rookie year on the reserve/PUP list, which would cost him the first six games. Gurley had his ACL reconstructed last November.

Then I'm soooo against this guy coming here. I'm tired of drafting players that are already hurt. Our first pick NEEDS to be a guy we insert day one.

I have heard a ton of scuttle that he will be ready for camp.

If you love him it doesn't matter. Would suck to have him on the shelf during the season, though.

why even chance this . We have been down this road before

Lmao at breaking news. We know it takes about a year and he tore it in October. Cmon guys. Also, if you let a month decide what Should be a 4 years+ impact, gimme a break.

While some were saying otherwise, it takes a good year to get over that injury before guys become productive. This isn't really shocking news and anyone that drafts him is doing it for next year, not this year. I don't think our FO does this because they are on the hot seat to do something THIS year, so I think the whole "we are interested in Gurley" talk is for a team to talk trades to us.

Stay 14. That is my focus. LOL.

A trade up for any player, but esp. Waynes, Parker or Gurley does nothing for me.

Gotta love drafting back that not one season stayed injury free coming off an ACL.

That RB is 20 years old. He is a young pup. He will bounce back fast. Nonissue for me.

Do I want him before 14? No way. This team needs the picks.

Everybody know are problem is not being able to finish a season strong. We will draft Gurley to increase our chances of finishing strong, he will get us over the hump. Draft him please! He is an all around back , can catch, break away and run you over! Backs like him don't come around often. No brainer.

this report was timed to have Gurley slip.
The Fins should either take him at 14 (and think long term-let him heal and get back to 100%), take one of the top 3 WR's, or trade down to acquire additional picks.
Nothing else makes sense to me.

The kid is 20 years old. We'll have him for a long time. I've been against drafting him but his medicals are excellent and he is a fantastic player. How awesome was it to have Knowshon against the Pats? We were a different team, a very good team! Gurley is way faster and light years better than Moreno, no comparison. He has it all. Now I have to hope that he's there when we pick and then I have to hope that we don't pull a Brady Quinn/ Ted Ginn deal. Bad example, as it turned out, but you get the point. Down the road, 2 or 3 years, he will be looked at as the best offensive player in this draft. Better than Winston, Cooper, White, Gordon etc. I predict he will turn out to be a AP type runner, a once in a decade talent. With this kid we make the playoffs every year!!!!
