### Andre Gurode, a five-time Pro Bowl center (2006-2010) and two time All-Pro, reached out to the Dolphins through his agent this week, hoping Miami will sign him to fill in for Mike Pouncey, who is expected to miss two to six regular-season games after hip surgery Tuesday. The Dolphins returned the call late yesterday but said they are going to hold off bringing him in but didn't close the door.

But the Dolphins have been making brief preliminary inquiries about the health/status of some available centers, though it remains to be seen if Miami will bring in any for visits.

Among the veteran free agents available: Dan Koppen, former Dolphin Samson Satele, Fernando Velasco, Brad Meester, Ryan Cook and David Baas.

He wasn't bad in Indy the last few years

Best known for getting his face stomped on by Fat Haynesworth.

every colt fan I know said satele was atrocious

Ugh...

In 2012, Gurode was brought in to replace a injured Lance Louis for the Bears.

Same Lance Louis that sucked for the Dolphins during his 1 month tenure.

:bobdole:

And dude is 35 years old? :idk: about this one.

Apparently the coaches think we're better off with what we already have??!!

Id rather take a look at Fernando Velasco. He is coming off an injury but work him out and see. He replaced the other Pouncey last year for 11 games and did fairly well.

But usually it's not the other way around.. Team calls agent and agent calls player??? I hope that he (Gurode) is not desperate for money

Or that the surgery was not as invasive as reported by the NFL pundits and Pouncey's recovery time table is shorter than the 3-5 months as well.

More than likely though they are just doing their due diligence no matter what happens to Pouncey.

While I agree it doesn't hurt to kick the tires, but didn't we also do that with Clabo?

Bet all my VCash Pouncey is not back before BYE week.

:chuckle:

Miami always holds off on doing the right thing while the New England Patriots always 100% of the time do things to better their team. This is why we we are always watching the Patriots win the AFC East, while we stand around playing with ourselves. :idk:
