Greetings fellow Dolfans! Although I have been a lurker for awhile, I decided to start posting on occasion. I grew up in Homestead, affiliated with the Air Force Base and had season tix from 1979 until 1988. I was present for many of the historic games, such as the 41-38 overtime loss to San Diego and the 14-0 "rain-soaked" AFC Championship victory against Gastineau and the Jets. I actually became a Dolphin fan as a toddler in the late 60's. I still remember the first Superbowl victory! In high school I could be found at Dolphins practice during the summers when I wasn't at my own football practice for the Homestead Broncos. I will never forget watching Dapper Dan on the practice field as a rookie in his first training camp. His level of talent was extremely obvious, even before he took his first snap in a preseason game. I remember hanging out at The Falls mall on Friday nights and often meeting players such as Mark Clayton, Tony Nathan, Don McNeal, etc. After graduating from high school at Homestead, I went to the University of Florida and became guru of all things Gator!
I moved from Florida in 1990, so I haven't been to a game since then. I currently live in Huntsville, AL and you can find me at the End Zone sports bar on Sundays cheering on the phins with several other fans in North Alabama. I am pumped about the new regime and some of the moves made thus far. We have reason to be optimistic again, although I think it will take a couple of seasons to really start reaping the benefits of the improved management. Go Dolphins and Go Gators!
