Gus' Bomb

We saw him launch it a bit during preseason, but without great accuracy.

Is that actually the case or were the receivers missing the beat?

What I'm asking is, is this a lack of experience with the receiving corps or is Gus not accurate on the deep bomb?

I know I watched him hit Randy on a bunch, but Janikowski could hit him on a deep route.

I just want these big gamebreaking plays and I'm hoping somebody can say, "yeah, its just that he needs some time getting comfortable with the speed and route running of his receivers".

And I guarantee that if I didn't write this line right here, that quote would have been one of the first few posts verbatim.

as many coaches do...i pwersonally think saban has held back almost everything we will start seeing on sunday. our defense has not been complex, and our O has looked nothing like minnesota's long-ball approach. we will need a few big plays in the pass game, because they will stack the run and try to force gus to get us this win.

Even if his accuracy on the deep ball isnt great right away (and I think it will be by midseason) we actually do have a running game to fall back on this year to take some of the pressure off of him.
And for you 4-12 hopefuls out there, I would rather see us succeed this year, and worry about 2006 after January, REGARDLESS of who is playing QB.

i find that hard to believe. what kind of fan would root for us to lose the first and second game of the season. Hell we were still in the race. I rooted for us to win everygame last year, except when we lost, it became so frequent i started to laugh instead of yell. i still wanted us to win though......
