Gus Frerotte Signed 3 yr deal with Rams

I am sad to see Gus go. The best option for us as a backup and a starter until DC is ready to go was/is Gus. Now St louis has that and we do not.

i agree, our best option especially if daunte cant go in the beginning of the season is gus. he also has continuity going for him.the offense is supposedly the same as last year so it would make a whole lot of sense. why give that journeyman label any more truth? oh well, kerry collins anyone?

gus was koool, he'd b a great backup but he was way too expensive. his a guy who goes team to team every now and again so his not greatly missed

thanks for helping us out this year, you did exactly what we needed you to do gus. For that reason we are thankful for what you contributed to the dolphins organization. Best of luck to you and your family!!!!

(not that he'll read that but makes me feel better as a fan putting it out there)

i wonder what type of money he got

BELIEVE ME, things were NOT handled the right way, I see this as Sabans first mistake, although not a big one.

Gus is established in our system and we KNOW he can win games for us. He created a great chemistry with chambers as the year went on.

He's backed up Pep before, shouldnt b eab big deal, and im sure he would have restructured his deal like his agent hinted.

Now, we have the burden of going out and wasting time, and possible compensation on trying to find a back up qb who wont be established in the system, who will have no relation to our players, and who will be unproven...why does this make any sense Nick?:fire:

I think Gus was upset Saban wanted to go in another direction. I think Gus wanted to be the starter and he felt as though he earned it. I also think he would have signed with anyone just to get out of Miami, because he wasn't given the starting job. By signing a QB that blows away all of Gus's numbers as a starting QB, he knew he was going to be a backup.

By moving on and not sticking with the fins, he proves he doesn't care about whats best for the team because he won't be the starter with the Rams either. We are better off without him if he can't accept his role and be their for the team if they need him. I think Saban will bring in a capapble veteran backup.

At one point I would of agreed with you, but that prick is now talking like he was the only reason we went 9-7 last year. Good riddance to someone who thinks that highly of himself above the team. Go head butt another wall dip-sh*t:fire:

Where are you getting that? He never said that HE was only reason we went 9-7.

"After playing 16 games, winning nine after they only won [four] the year before"

This is a remark where I think he is pretty much giving himself the credit as I said above he uses a seperatist language. In this statement alone he's says they only won 4 games without him and 9 with him. He doesn't say any team oriented stuff like we turned it around and won 9. I wouldn't of had a problem with him coming back as the backup and being the starter if Daunte couldn't go, but I really think this guy has a distorted vision of reality where he beleives he's better than he truly is. Once again deep this is only my impression that I got from him and is in no way trying to discredit anyone elses opinion. Either which way he's back with his best bud Scott. L

"Personally, I don't think things were handled the right way,'' Frerotte said. "After playing 16 games, winning nine after they only won [four] the year before, and then to just kind of be put on the back burner, that was kind of tough."

He is using completely seperatist language in that statement. This is just how he comes off to me. He always seemed to talk about himself over the team when I seen interviews. Not like a T.O. or anything to that nature.
