Don't get me wrong, I am not defending Gus in any way.

The only receiver Gus can hit is Welker. It got me thinking. We all know Wes knows the routes and can run them with the best of them. Is it possible Wes is more prepared than any of our other receivers? He has more to prove. Is some of the blame to be put on our other receivers? I don't know the actual stats, but we all know that Gus to Wes almost always results in something good. Gus to anybody else....Good Luck. If all of our other receivers put forth the effort that Wes does, would we be a 4-2 team right now? Some of the problems Gus has had does have to be put on the WR's too, we have seen them drop some easy passes. But an NFL WR is better than the average guy, they should be able to catch some difficult passes and I have only seen them pick up a few of those this year.

Again, don't think I am defending Gus, I personally want to see Sage start. But if it is a prob with the WR's, we will be having this same conversation in a month about starting Cleo because Sage sucks.

Your opinions?

Welker doesn't run routes downfield, and that has been Gus's biggest problem.

He doesnt?

Then who was the #83 who made the big catch downfield last night?

Wes doesn't run sideline routes, which are further and harder throws to make. Also, Gus did miss an open Wes against KC. The ball went so far over Wes' head that he jumped into a big hit by the safety.

He has hit him a few times on those intermeditate over the middle passes. He has done the same with McMicheal, however, the consistency isnt there.

Didn't Gus overthrow Wes too yesterday? I think it was on 3rd down too.

yeah, I thought Wes was going to get knocked out by the way he jumped for that pass. The SS/FS gave him a good hit to the midsection, but thankfully Wes was okay.

He did over throw him....only once that I can remember. How many times did he over throw chambers, ricky, and the others? The thing about the welker pass is that he overthrew him over the middle. Gus is lucky Welker is able to play the rest of the season because he almost had his damn head knocked off that play.
