I have no numbers, stats, or observations. I don't see what the coaches see everyday or have their years of experience with evaluating talent and skill.

However, for some reason I cannot explain, I have this gut feeling that Cleo Lemon could be a special player. The Dolphins true "diamond in the rough"

Please don't argue that he had his chance last year, either. We all know when he played it was not even close to the appropriate opportunity to hand him the reigns.

Feel free to argue or agree.

With Cam having worked with him in the past at San Diego, and the fact that he showed some potential last year, Cleo will get a shot at the starting job.

I dont see why not, other than they guy has been a backup for the crappy QB's that we have had in here the past 2 years. I mean if they guy was really as good as some people think he is or is going to be he would have been starting sometime in the last 2 years other than the last game that didn't matter last year.

I personally cant say that I'm in love with what he has, but there isn't anything that he does that makes me just want to say wow. We need better than just average on this team taking snaps. Hopefully Beck can give that to us in the future, but for now who knows who that is going to be. Maybe going back in Cam's offense will help Lemon quite a bit. Marty seemed to think the guy had potential, or just didn't want Feeley on his team. Either one is understandable.

You never know. Damon Huard has never impressed me but he turned it on last year. Maybe Lemon will be the guy. He finally has a chance to be the number one guy. Let's hope he makes something of it. Go Fins.

I've had similar feelings as well. I'm not saying that Lemon would be a Pro-Bowl caliber player but that he could bring some much needed stability to the QB position.

he definitely deserves a shot...cam is looking at all his options

Tom Brady

I'm not saying that Cleo will be the next Tom Brady, but how come he was a backup for so long? People mature at different levels.

Cleo is a good back up i dont see him being a starter anywhere in the league but i think he is a desent backup

He did a nice job vs. the Colts last year, enough that he deserves a shot at the starting spot IMO.

I say give him a shot and if he proves that he should be the starter in training camp by beating out all the other quarterbacks on the team, then yes he should be the starter. I say It is really up to Lemon to take the opportunity presented to him and show everyone that he deserves the job.:ninja:

Lemon has shown nothing in his career hinting towards special abilities.
Two Phin coaching staffs have shown zero confidence in his abilities to be a starter as well.

That gut feeling is something you ate.

cant help but respect that gut feeling... no reason to doubt him. Randycam drafting Beck doesnt help him but Cleo could have as good a chance to start as anyone, this year atleast. So I could see him getting a chance and making the most of it.
