Take the loss and zip it man, Miami played their a$$es off and they couldn come up big, Ok Ronnie hasn played well and the secondary Sucks but they will come around. Ronnie Brown is a rookie and u have to understand he is not ready to take loads like CArnell is, did u watch Auburn games? Caddie was the main focus wit Brown being a mentor, Give him a chance!!!! Miami will do good just give them time give the Oline time also were 1-1 its not the end of the world look at the Chargers and ravens there 0-2 and there much better than us. Patience is a Virtue.

gus and ronnie both stunk.

stop defending the offense.

Gus stunk?

Watch the damn game again and come back...He had 5 drops and had a lot of pressure in his face. I think Frerotte is the least of our worries on offense.

That's the best post you've ever made. We'll be fine. Don't listen to the "chicken littles" on this board.

Patience really is a virtue. We will be dominant in the future.

Gus wasn't bad....i was not impressed with the defense though. But give the Jets credit, they played great football. Their line was solid, they played physical and they didn't make stupid mistakes or penalties, we did, we lost. It was close, i feel miserable but next week is a brand new week.

We're basically a team with an 11-5 defense, but a 5-11 offense.

A few thoughts:

I'm excited about the play of our defense considering the average age of our starters. Imagine how awesome our defense will be after Saban gets a couple more offseasons to revamp it. I think it's likely that we'll have one of the best defenses in the league two years from now. Hell, we might have THE best defense in the league at that point.

We all know that the mediocre play on the offensive side of the ball today was pretty much across the board. However, I do think Frerotte is getting way too much flak from some of you. A lot of catchable balls were just plain dropped and the Jets were able to get far more penetration than most any QB can easily handle. Frerotte is proving to be a significant improvement over Fiedler/Feeley, and let's not forget that he did perform superbly last week. Brown is struggling, but that's completely normal for an NFL rookie (For example, look at how poorly Ricky fared in his rookie season). Give Ronnie another season or two and I'm confident he'll be a consistent 1300+ yard rusher ala Curtis Martin. With that said, hopefully our offense will significantly improve when Ricky returns. In the meantime, let's hope and pray for another win or two.

Did any of us eight days ago expect to be 1-1 after barely losing to the Jets in New York? I still think we're capable of an 8-8 record plus or minus a win or two. Let's enjoy the season and dream of that Lombardi Trophy that Saban is going to bring to Miami in two or three more seasons.

Fellow Dolfans, repeat after me: The future is bright and there is reason to be optimistic.

Yep. 1-1 isnt bad, im expecting playoffs and this is one of the games i thought we had a good shot at losing. It was close..If we stopped the jets on 3rd and 14 inside their 20 yard line we would of had a great shot. It didnt happen, we hung in there with a good team. If we go into the bye week 2-1, which is possible, we play great in september, i think we will be just fine.

The defense still needs to be completely overhauled. They can't get off the field on 3rd down, and that's really troublesome. We scored and got some momentum and the defense allows the Jets to take the ball the length of the field and score. That was the game right there.

Same old defense, and I'm very excited about Saban being here and bringing in his guys in the future.

gus is a hall of famer next to jay or aj, dont know what anybody is watching, he has a good arm better then chad, matter of fact right now he is better then chad

I hate to agree....but i do

At least we are not the Bills. Only one touchdown all season.

We are definitely a better team then last year, but we are going to lose games like this during the season. Don't take this as a pessimistic statement, but we are probably just a 7-9 or 8-8 team this year.

The problem with your thought here is that it's wrong about what the problems are...

Brown can't play much better with the holes he has NOT been getting from the OL...and he won't be any better either until HH works his magic. The other problem on offense is our poor QB play. Gus couldn't hit the broadside of the barn most of the day. He was having the same problems last week, but got a lot of help from the recievers. Today, on the few times he was on target, our recievers dropped catchable balls. Gus can't throw on the run (which he was quite a bit today) and throws into double coverage.

We aren't going to be better unless the OL improves. Gus might have an easier time of things then, but he is not very accurate and tends to breakdown and get flustered.

Dude as long as we're better than last year, I'll be happy with our progression. There's already threads here about taking Leinart. I think we're MUCH better than that (Unless he blows his knee out and falls to the late 2nd/early 3rd rounds)
