Guys we gave up on too soon

Did we give up on them too soon or did they take too long to get their head out of their butt and put the work in that's required to be successful in the NFL. That's the better question.

I would say Raheem Mostert is the obvious...I thought it was pretty disappointing that a guy who had shown some potential before we brought him in was cast aside a few weeks later without much chance.
Guy was on 7 teams before he was successful. To my earlier point, is that our short sightedness or Raheem not putting the effort in until it was either work hard or work hard at Wendy's....?

Let's not forget Matt Brieda and remind Coleman were also effective running backs for the 49ers. That offensive line was dominant and helped mostert by creating massive holes for him. It is just hind light saying he would have been good after last year. Nobody was saying that the year prior when heblooked good for a few games on the 49ers

The NFL loves pigeon-holing returners as return specialists only. They also love not spending a roster spot on guys they view as return specialists at all with the league trying to legislate the kick return out of existence due to injuries. I haven't really seen anything that said Raheem was being passed around because of character concerns but I have seen over and over the league not want to give returners a shot at a regular offensive role.

I mean, it took three years for Wes Welker, one of the best slot receivers of our era and already discussed here, to start getting snaps on offense, despite having legends like Bryan Gilmore and Derrius Thompson in front of him. It took Welker three years to get a chance to prove himself, but Moestert rarely got three weeks.
