The crew on ESPN all picked Denver to win. If you looked at who they played during the reg season you see how they got the #2 seed. The majority of their wins came against horrible teams and a couple teams that were struggling early or had a key injury. Overall, they struggled with the teams that had a winning record (our beloved fins included) which lead to their #2 seed. I'm surprised that none of them picked Pitt considering what they did to Indy the week before.

"The majority of their wins came against horrible teams"

Let's see, they beat...

San Diego (9-7) twice
Kansas City (9-7)
Jacksonville (12-4)
Washington (10-6)
New England (10-6) twice
Dallas (9-7)

Lost to Giants (11-5) by a whole point on the road
Lost at KC (9-7) by four

Yeah, it's so obvious!

haha yeahhh i dont see a lot of horrible teams that they beat there

Denver was 8-0 at home.....how could you say you had no doubts. The secondary of Denver had a horrible game....Champ missed an easy pick in the 1st quarter that would have turned the game around.....Ferguson missed a pick with 7 seconds left in the 1st half that gave Pittsburgh an unbeatable lead....Denver never showed up.

Yea and there offensive line was absolutely horrible. Jake Plummer had a few bad passes, but I hope he doesn't get a beating from the media and fans... he played his heart out. IMO Denver's secondary and O-line cost them.

4 turnovers by Denver....hard to win that way...but congrats to Pittsburgh....should be a good SB.

In the prediction thread yesterday I picked Pittsburgh in a blowout.

Most people thought I was crazy, I think.

And regular season, shmegular season... I based my prediction on whay I saw last week. Pitt was hugely impressive against the Colts and in all the right ways. Denver won, but not nearly as impressively.

They were clearly, to me, the inferior team going into the game today.

(and anytime i was about to bet on Jake Plummer over ben Roesthisbirger, I would would have to rethink... so Pitt was an easy choice)

I thought PIttsburgh was gonna win all along.

to say the Broncos beat up on crappy teams though is the funniest thing I've read all night. almost good enough to make my sig.

Good for you. Takes a big man.

I hate to eat my crow when friggin Washington beat Tampa bay.

Let's see, they beat...

San Diego (9-7) twice- underachieving team, but should have split

Kansas City (9-7) earlier in the year before LJ got rolling- he ran for 140 and
2 TD in Den loss

Jacksonville (12-4) I'll give you that one, they were good eariler.

Washington (10-6) inconsistent offense. the Giants crushed these guys.

New England (10-6) twice. caught them early on NE's way to 4-4. And let's
face it, NE gave the game away last week. but I wasn't including post-season

Dallas (9-7) had to go to OT and win w/a FG

again, the majority of their wins (13 total in the reg. season, 7 being greater than 6) were against these 7 very weak teams:
-Philly was a mess this year
-they played Oakland twice
-Jets were a mess
-Bills were a mess
-Ravens were a mess
-Week 17 vs SD, Brees was knocked out in the 2nd qtr. forcing Rivers to come in and go 12/22 115 0 td 1 int

Denver was not as good, IMHO, as their record indicated.

maybe that's because they have the 29th ranked pass D. giving up 227 ypg and 20 TDs this year. Only better than KC, NE and SF. Despite having Champ and Lynch, they aren't that good. combine that with a hot Ben R. and it was a no brainer.

well then you need to go back and really read what I was saying (word for word) and see if you feel different
