As you can tell by my name, bittertosweet, happiness will come.

Patience, these guys will get their mistakes fixed. We all know this team is not the most untalented team or the most, talent is not the problem, the 72/73 dolphins were the "no namers" and happened to win two superbowls.
Coaching is the problem, we have a great line to run it behind and two great backs, the reason their numbers are down is because the coaches are not giving them a single chance to shine, we always say "our talent sucks, wes welker isnt worth a 2nd we screwed them haha", and all our "no talent" is great talent elsewhere, it is because they are being used properly, don't blame the players for lack of heart or effort, they give it every game all out, blame the coaches for not directing the team to be a smash mouth team.
This team has plenty of talent to win, it is just not being used right and thing blew up after the jets game, the cardinals game is just the residue, the players know that the reason we are losing is because of the playcalling, penalties will happen with a young team, the coaches aren't even giving us a chance to win, with the players we have we should have a very good chance to win every sunday.

We need to run the ball down their throats until the passing game opens up, that is dolphin football and winning any other way is not likely with our talent right now nor is it a long term success plan, they wanted it to be when you play the dolphins you are gonna get smash mouth, so far its been ice skating.
Even when sparano said "we had to pass in the 2nd half to catch up" in response to a "why didn't you run it?" question was a lie, they were passing it on first down for the first 3 possessions when it was 0-0.
After we sacked farve the last play instead of keeping up the heat on the next play they played safe defense and got faked by farve on that long bomb, if he was rushed he would have been sacked long before throwing it.

The reason why we are losing is because of the coaches playcalling and decisions, not have r&r on 3rd down and not using ginn or wilford, and above all else cutting zach and trading jason, essentially not going for it and playing it safe, playing safe will get you 8-8 in the nfl with the most talented team ever, the coaches have to let the players play and have faith in them or this will never change, dont blame the players blame the ones who are responsible for everything, the coaches, the players are giving it their all, the coaches are giving it nothing, that is the problem.

-we also need to be running it constantly even if we go 3 and out on runs early on or are behind by one or two scores, with that line and those backs we will break their back sooner then later and coast onto a victory against teams if we run it down their throat, the coaches just have to have faith in the players, then the victories will come we just all need to have faith, gotta love the players though, they still give it their all despite how stupid the coaches are.

Now that all that facts are stated that we already know, I just want to say that we need to relax and take a deep breath and know that the coaches know they have screwed up and we can still change this thing around, if the coaches show faith and start playing the game right instead of panicking and making chad throw it all game which is the worst part of our game right now, this team will turn around and go from the bitterness now to the sweetness later, which, thankfully, there is still time to change, if the coaches change first and we play dolphin(smash mouth) football we still have a chance to change this thing around now. Lets stop denying the talent is there and admit it is and wait for the coaches to do the right thing and change now, hopefully this year will go from bitter to sweet, I have a feeling it will, now.

Go fish, never give up hope. We will get this thing right. Have a good day guys, and be happy, lol :)

Finally, a true fan. I believe the coaching is killing us badly. If we do not change now... I just don't know...

they were down 17-0 at the blink of an eye and should've been running the football?

Yes if I remember correctly before they were down so fast ronnie ran to the left on 3rd and one instead of running it up the gut and going through them, at least give the players a chance to prove themselves, the coaches have not down that at all the first two games, also i believe with ricky/ronnie and that line 3rd and one is easy every time. If we get that first down , warner isn't on the field to bomb us. Also, sorry for posting it twice, I did not want to lose it because the log in thing came up.

I hate to rain on the peptalk parade. I like to see people able to keep a positive outlook....But....

Running for the sake of running doesnt win football games.

The days where that philosphy worked are long gone. Athletes are too strong, too fast, and too well conditioned nowadays.

If we keep going 3 and out in a futile attempt to prove something, our own D is on the field too long while theirs gets to sit 5-10 mins after every 3 plays we run on them.

I'm also not sure when exactly running the ball down their throats was ever Dolphins football, how many 1000 yard rushers do we have? (3?) I can't recall off the top of my head.

But....

Yes we need to run the ball, but we need to throw it first to set up the run.

*Edit: Short research session shows 7 1000 yard rushers, a couple I completely forgot about... lol. (Delvin Willams and Lamar Smith)

Optimistic fans got hit hard by reality, that's what really happened.

I dont know how many 1000 yd rushers we have but dolphins football has always been tough, mainly highlighted by the defense, everybody knows you run to setup the pass, im not saying run every play of the game, but at least give it into the 4th quarter to see how it wears them down, if you wear them down enough you can run at will over them, but that always comes late, so even if we go 3 and out a buncha times for say, we may not get points, but i guarantee you they willl be much easier to run on every time from then on, and we win games late that way, once we establish that, we will run over teams and teams will fear us because they know they will have to give everything to be able to beat us.

The days of not being able to run heavy all the time are not over, I cant remember a team that ran it heavy all the time recently, and at the right times like the numerous 3rd and ones we have had and decided to pass the next two downs already this year. I guarantee you if they do it right they will win games late and wear out teams to the point where they dont want to face us, this is the precedent for setting up long term success in the nfl, hard fast simple football, nothing fancy just the basics.

Even if we lose a close one giving it our all winning the right way we will have earned the right to call ourselves winners, and if you do it right you will win 90% of the time. Also, when we get this thing right, we will lose a few close games while we gell, but don't give up on the basics of running it when you lose close, sometimes things dont bounce you're way, but 9/10 doing it right will win you the game. Everybody has to have faith that even when we do it right and lose, we have to continue to do it right, this train will get it right. And you don't pass to setup the run, if you use everything to win every different way every sunday, we will have a team with no identity, that is worse then losing with an identity. The last thing we want to become is the cheatriots, they do everything to win and nobody respects them.
Also, if you haven't noticed all the fancy plays and fancy playcalling with heavy passing and us not having an identity is whats got us in this hole and sticking to that will only get us deeper, we just have to stop trying to be fancy and have some faith and do it right, keep it simple. Also, passing is not our strength right now, no matter you're talent, you should always run to setup the pass, if you do it backwards like we have been for the past 10 years, we get no where. life is not complicated, keep it simple and it will turn out right.

Every team in the NFL knows this and they stack the box with 8-9 defenders.

It is easy to stop a 1 dimensional team. If we keep trying to run into a brick wall the brick wall will win.

If we go around the brick wall a few times, the blocks need to spread out, letting us run it through the wall more.

Don't get me wrong, when Marino was QB I used to complain about not running enough (hence all the 4th quarter shoot outs we used to get in), but now, with 2 very good running backs, we need to throw the ball more to give them room to run.

We can't go downfield early either. With all those defenders in the box, our O-line gets overwhelmed with a pass rush.

We need to run alot of screens and short routes early, enough to spread them out a bit. Then, we can run it, run REAL playaction passes, and take shots deep.

I understand what you're saying about the box thing we have been getting short yardage on the very few times we have run it but so far its been pass run pass kick or pass pass pass kick or run pass pass kick, never sticking to the run, with our size and our guys toughness, if we stick to the running game i dont care if they stick 11 in the box they will get run down eventually, and late in games is when we will win when they can't field anybody because they are all on oxygen tanks, we have not shown any commitment to that, that is why we have had no results, you see the short rushing we have had is because they gave up on running before the game started, it is not them that is the problem, it is us. You always run to setup the pass, passing takes skill and coordination, running takes simple toughness. We are simple and tough right now, but not so coordinated as a team, it is because the coaches have made us this way by the play calls.

We dont have to run it every down, just the right downs one two and if close 3rd and 4th or even one two and three for a few games just to show them we are comitted, and also if we are at say our 40 and its 4th and 1, go for it, the reason we have lost so many close games lately is because we never go for it, say we get that first, they are back to having to defend the run right away and their o is off the field, its about consistently doing the right things, for instance if you are getting constant first downs every 1st second and 3rd down you continue running it even on 4th down until they can stop you, I remember in the past couple of years just when our team was about to get over the hump and they couldn't stop us with the run for their life, the coaches decided to get fancy and throw on 3rd and one and 4th and one and stop our momentum and excitement completely and we never get that td, its because we have to have faith to run it even when the odds are against us, and certaintly when they are in our favor, we do that and you will see this team do a 180.

You have to go with what works and be flexible enough to change when things arent going your way.

If your getting 5 yards per carry, by all means, pound that rock baby!

But if your getting stuffed at or behind the line, you better be able to do something else.

The offense we are running doesnt fit our players ATM. When BP and Sparano came on we were told that we would tailor our schemes to fit the players, not vice versa.

I havent seen them do that yet.

We keep trying to fit a square peg into a round hole and the rest of the NFL laughs at us and taunts us with Banannas from the other side of the cage.
