They have to satisfy the Rooney Rule for the head coach vacancy as well. They satisfied it for GM with Alexander and Kelly, not for HC. Pretty sure that is what he is referring to. I agree, they should start interviews now, even if Harbaugh is their guy, so they can satisfy this stupid rule and focus on him next week.

Is this shift more a result of people stepping back and considering the scenarios a bit more? I got the feeling a lot of people over reacted to timing of the McDaniel firing and thought it was because Ross had already a got Harbaugh. I think it was more to out is in the mix to sign him. Probably had more to do with cleaning the slate for the new GM which was announced right on the back of it.

Harbaugh will take his tile and consider all the options available to him. That may include other landing spots after Wildcard round. He's just come off a long, successful tenure at Baltimore. He won’t be rushing into his next job without the proper evaluation.
