Harbaugh $$$

That's what he's being offered.

I was poking around my Dolphins feed on Twitter and saw that one of our dearly departed posters (none other than CKParrothead) thinks that this is a case of Steve Ross trying to take Oakland out of the mix before they even get into it. Ross is the money man for Michigan and would have to sign off on that kind of offer. Interesting angle I hadn't considered. I think he is on to something there.

Either way, Jim is going to get paid. Bigtime.

Until his team doesnt make the playoffs....:p

It's not my money. Pay him $100 million a year for all I care.

Pretty much. I could not care less what Steve Ross is paying our head coach, so long as it does not impede us from getting or retaining a good coach. As the man says, it's not my money.

well thats what ross has offered him to coach michigan. i would be surprised if he outbids himself

Depends on who leaked details of the contract. If Harbaugh leaked it, it means he's looking to drive up the price on Ross.

If Michigan leaked it, it could mean a lot of things. If Ross's people leaked it, likewise.

If he can win a playoff game, pay him $10M a year. Doesn't count on the cap, and is chump change for Ross.

oh yeah, no cap hit. Was thinking like a thephins.com poster, jumped the gun reading all the tweets. If he's coach, he's coach, doesn't matter the money.

Yup, heard the same thing, 6 years, 48 million dollar deal to go to Michigan.

I view it as the cost of doing business for Ross after he flubbed so many previous hiring decisions. If he wants to get his man this time he will have to pay out of his ass.

It doesn't affect the salary cap and ain't coming out of my pocket, so I really don't care how much it takes to land him
