I was poking around my Dolphins feed on Twitter and saw that one of our dearly departed posters (none other than CKParrothead) thinks that this is a case of Steve Ross trying to take Oakland out of the mix before they even get into it. Ross is the money man for Michigan and would have to sign off on that kind of offer. Interesting angle I hadn't considered. I think he is on to something there.
Pretty much. I could not care less what Steve Ross is paying our head coach, so long as it does not impede us from getting or retaining a good coach. As the man says, it's not my money.
oh yeah, no cap hit. Was thinking like a thephins.com poster, jumped the gun reading all the tweets. If he's coach, he's coach, doesn't matter the money.
I view it as the cost of doing business for Ross after he flubbed so many previous hiring decisions. If he wants to get his man this time he will have to pay out of his ass.
It doesn't affect the salary cap and ain't coming out of my pocket, so I really don't care how much it takes to land him
