A little respect from enemy territory-

"FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The Patriots have little to fear from the Dolphins on Sunday. Though the Patriots need a victory for a chance at the conference's No.3 postseason seed, they have already clinched the AFC East title. Even if the Dolphins beat them, the Patriots (10-5) are going on to the playoffs while the Dolphins are going home for the offseason.

But wait till next year. Wait until the streaking Dolphins (8-7), winners of five in a row, get themselves a first-rate starting quarterback to replace Gus Frerotte. Once that happens, the Patriots won't have the luxury of muddling around .500 for much of the season, as they did this year, and still clinch the division title after 14 games. Be sure of one thing: Now that Nick Saban has moved into the neighborhood, the Patriots' AFC East cakewalk is over. "

Move over Patsies, theres a new era coming.
The sad part is, while we're going to be great starting next year, the Patsies aren't going anywhere either as long as Brady and BB have control. They'll always be a force!

It'll make it all the sweeter when we beat them! I'd love to defeat them in an AFC Champ game sometime in the next few years. I'm still bitter over 1985 ....

Damn straight!

That 1985 game was a killer. I honestly thought we had our name over that Lombardi trophy that year with us having the weapons to beat the Bears.
All great teams have to go on the downward slope sometime and i agree with you regarding them still being a force but there may not be a better chance with the Jets not showing anything or the Bills for that matter
I do honestly believe we are seeing the start of something in Miami that we havnt seen for a good few years now. Now if we can just get a promising/proven QB.........

Amen to your QB comment!!

In '85, I was only 12 and had just started to put my heart and soul into the Dolphins. I knew I was hooked when the '84 SuperBowl loss hurt me so bad. That Patsies game was a nightmare. We ALWAYS beat them in Miami at that point, and they come in and punk us and steal our glory. It lead to a downward spiral that kept us out of the playoffs for four straight years.

Jets and Bills should continue to be down for a couple more years at least. We just have to handle them when they are down - something we've not been good in recent times. If we can then split with the Patsies at least for the foreseable future, we'll be in good shape!

To be the best, you have to beat the best. Hell I hope New England is full strength next year. Because then we shall end their reign on the AFC East and the entire NFL. Here's to them not winning another SB!

couldnt agree with this article anymore.....i cant wait till next year...im really feeling an 11-5 season:D

i bet on the patriots message boards they're saying "the media is giving us no respect! f'in dolphinlovers"

Damn right he is. I'm sure that the Pats thought that it would be easy to win the division every year, but now they actually will have a threat in the divsion starting next year.
