First let me say, I absolutely HATED the Hartline pick and almost threw up when it was announced. But that was then and this is now. I know and so does the rest of the football world we need help at reciever. Yet when I watch this kid I think he could stick around for a while if we just get a number 1.

Last night watching the game my girlfriend (who doesn't know much football) saw him make a catch and goes how is that guy a reciever he looks real slow....my answer I think he runs great routes especially for a ROOK and its pretty impressive.

So as a guy who was always on the Defensive side of the ball, I would love to hear from others who know the position well what they think of this kid NOW. I don't think he is ever gonna be great...but a real good 3rd?

the thought alone of 2 osu wr's is sickening, but at least hartline is making plays

I have said this before but I think hartline could very well become the next ricky proehl. The guy runs really good routes for a rookie and can catch the ball. I am impressed with what I see. I hope they bring him along and he has the desire to do so.

he plays good special teams too. He is definately a keeper... He and Bess run good routes for us..Hartline is big too.

yeah he does add something on special teams too....him and bess could be good compliments to a great number 1 in my opinion

I see Hartline as a Dane Looker/Kevin Curtis type of receiver for us.

He's an outstanding route runner, and good at reading defenses.

Damn right i'm impressed with Hartline. He's made plays all over the field and he's just a rookie, thank Jeff Ireland for this pick because this was him all the way. How many people when our draft was rated said he was taken wayyy too high and blah blah blah? Look at him now!! I want to see if Patrick Turner can get any playing time this season as well.

as long as we keep Bess, I'm happy. the rest of the Corps has something to prove. Ginn will always be a great KR and PR, but a 3rd WR at best who comes in to run deep to blow the top off the coverage and open up the intermediate routes. Hartline has shown moments of great ability, and moments of lost focus. But he is a rookie, and the jury is still out. Camarillo is very dependable as well.

the true question is will he be in the top 10 of best white wr's in the league, lol, i think so

Bess has had too many drops and bad plays this season, Camarillo would be the one with nothing to prove as he's the only person on the team who hasn't dropped a pass all season. As for the orignal question here though.... Hartline has done little to impress me so far. He's made a couple nice plays but 14 catches in 10 games when he's started a handful of them is hardly impressive even for a rookie WR. He's not really producing, and he didn't really produce in college either so I'm not even sure why everyone is so high on him.

Guys I have been impressed with this season though....
-Chad Henne: He's been way better than I expected)
-Polite: He's become a Great blocking FB)
-R&R: No explaination needed)
-The OL: The were shaky at first but they have played outstanding lately all across the board)
-Cam Wake: IMO he's EASILY Miami's best pass rusher
-JT: I wasn't sure how much he had left and he hasn't been a sack monster but has been Really solid and is playing better vs the run than I've ever seen him
-Vontae Davis: He has all the tools to be a top 5 cb in the NFL, he can do it all.... catch, cover, HIT, has great recovery speed
-Fields: He must have worked on that leg because I don't remember him booming punts like this before

He has made plays it seems when it counts the most. I am too lazy to look it up but how many of those catches were key 3rd down conversions? The guy is no burner but he is dependable with better than average hands. Of course he is nothing like a number one but plays his role well. To me he can be similar Camarillo but with better upside. Bess has dropped some but he does more good than harm. Ginn's drops are the ones that have killed this offense's momentum at some of the worst times.

I hated the pick when it happened, as I hate Ohio Taint, but I like what he's shown so far this year.
