Active Roster
Ryan Tannehill, Mike Wallace and Brian Hartline are all close to statistical milestones this season, and the Miami Dolphins‘ passing offense is going to have to have a huge day when they host the New York Jets for them to achieve these marks.
Tannehill needs 291 yards to get to 4000 on the season. He would be the first to do so since the man he hopes to make Dolphins’ fans forget, Dan Marino. He’s going to have to recover from last week’s game in which he threw for under 100 yards, was sacked seven times and suffered a knee injury which caused him leave the game.
Brian Hartline and Mike Wallace might become the first pair of 1000-yard receivers for the Dolphins since Mark Clayton and Mark Duper in 1991 (the pair also did it in 1984, Marino’s record breaking year).
Hartline is 22 yards away from producing his second straight 1000-yard season which would make him the first to do so since Brandon Marshall in 2010 and 2011. Mike Wallace needs 95 yards to produce his third 1000-yard season of his five-year career. If Tannehill reaches 4000 yards it’s likely that one or both of these receivers will reach their milestones.
With all those statistics in mind it’s easy to forget Charles Clay. This former college fullback is finally finding the consistency he lacked in his first two seasons. His 65 receptions for 716 yards has him nine receptions and 76 yards from becoming the most productive tight end in Dolphins’ history.
